Is it only me who won't go for the snuz pod things and other gadgets?

I'm surprised at all the latest technology with stuff when I had my DS. It was a plain old moses basket then a cot. He slept fine. All thro the night from 7 weeks. ( bet I won't be that lucky this time lol)
But when I look now there's all these next to me cribs. Sleeping aids, Sensor pads etc.
I'm not knocking it by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just not won over by it.
We've got a crib for next to the bed and getting one of those napper rockers for lounge. Altho were on one level I just would prefer something in each room. And tbh I may not bother with a normal sound monitor as it will always be with us.
Think I'm old fashioned.. Lol

I went from having nothing but a hand-me-down Moses basket (useless thing) when ds was born (and I mean NOTHING because ds was premature and I hadn't gone shopping yet... not a hat, baby grow or blanket in the house) to having every last thing that might make him sleep for more than 20 mins at a time! If it hadn't been for the snuz pod, sleepy head and bouncy chair I think I would have lost my mind! They were they only things that helped and I left buying them all really late because I didn't know about them or thought they were a waste of money. There may be a lot of products out there and it is really confusing but I will never forgive the assistant in the baby section of John Lewis for telling me not to bother with the sleepyhead... about a year after that conversation I bought one and never had to get up in the night again because ds had his foot stuck through the bars of his cot!

I had two preemies so they fit in theirs for as long as i needed them to lol. Baby swing was a godsend for both too to help them have a nap in the day. I dont know whether i was too rigid with routine, but i used to try and get them to sleep after each feed and wake them for their feeds as they got older. I needed the sleep in the nights lol
