Reduced movements

I think I already know the answer to this, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had any experience of this. I'm 26+4 and the last few days I've not felt as much movement as I did before. I moved home over the weekend and I'm not sure if I just haven't been paying enough attention. The movement is definitely still there and I can feel her stretching out, it's just not as much as it was.
The thing that worries me is that for the last few weeks my bump hasn't grown. Before this it seemed to he growing at an alarming rate and now seems to have stopped. I'll ring my midwife in the morning, just wanted to hear people experience. Don't remember this with my first.

Have a glass of really cold water. Usually stimulates a good bit of wriggling. Then phone the maternity unit. Better to get checked and put your mind at rest.

Midwife or EPU Tonight.
Now.
Probably be fine, but needs checking now. Not tomorrow.

Typically, as I posted this I felt some strong kicks. I'd imagine it was a sugar rush from the massive bar of Dairy Milk

She's actually still going for it now. Perhaps I've just been too busy to much attention. Such a worrier. The kicks have given me enough reassurance for tonight but I will defo ring in the morning. I stupidly moved from across the road to the hospital to 40 mins away.

I'd still make a call even if its to put your mind at ease

Take care

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 03/10/2017 19:43

Yeah you're right. I'll make the call

Reduced movements are just that - reduced. Not NO movements. So even if baby has moved now, if you think it's less than usual overall, you should still raise it.

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 03/10/2017 20:13

I've spoken to triage and she was happy for me not to go in. She said if I'm still concerned throughout the night or tomorrow then call back.

You were right to call. I'm please you did. Do not hesitate if anything worried you overnight. It can feel inconvenient but best to get checked.

X

Lemondrop99 · 03/10/2017 20:21

That's good. I'm glad you called. Hopefully baby will keep wiggling and you'll feel happier.

I haven't stopped since Friday when moved. Time to start relaxing I think. I'm signed off until my mat leave starts because I've broken my wrist so I'm going to start taking it easy now.. or as easy as I can with a 2 yr old

When I moved*

I had so called 'reduced movement' 3 times with ds and I went in every time to get checked as per their advice. They also told me that reduced movement is very misleading and actually you should pay attention to if the type of movement you usually get changes in anyway also. I ended up being induced as they were concerned and we were lucky, he was fine but distressed during labour and I dread to think what might have been if I hadn't gone in.

DeadDoorpost · 03/10/2017 23:55

I've also found that if I do more exercise or move more than usual then my baby barely moves. But then he refused to move for my 12 week scan until I did star jumps. I just think he hates me moving. Maybe your girl is the same?
I've also found that I panic more on those days but usually because I'm honestly not paying attention to him. Glad you phoned up though.

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 04/10/2017 13:30

Lots of movement today. Feeling a lot less anxious.
All my unpacking is almost done, so I've had a chilled day w/ my 2 year old. Perhaps that's what I needed. I've been a bit anxious for nearly two weeks after taking a tumble down the stairs - hence the fractured wrist. She was checked out at the time and found to be fine but doesn't stop the worry.
