Chatting with my sister today we were discussing the best things to spend money on during pregnancy, either for mum or baby...seeing as there are SO many things promoted to pregnant women.

So, if you've had something really useful share it here Smile

Mine are (currently 38 weeks)....

Pregnancy pilates class. £5 for 1.5hrs each week, feel amazing during and after...

Fruit flavoured heartburn tablets. £2 for 98. I have a strip of them in every bag, room, pocket, car....

Mindful hypnobirthing audiobook. Sends me to sleep every night guaranteed. Really good content and can listen when pottering around doing things. Audible subscription...
£7.99

Maternity swimming costume for £10 and council swimming pool membership £20 a month. Go at 11am most days and the whole pool is totally empty. Feel like a millionaire that has my own pool.

I am really pleased I signed up to Daisy Birthing classes, wish I had done more pregnancy yoga/relaxation classes as have got a lot out of it.

I love my pregnancy pillow, I got mine from Mamas and Papas and it has really helped make me more comfortable in bed. My husband and dogs also like it, so at least it will be getting used after the pregnancy too!

Maternity pyjamas from Jojo Maman Bebe have been a brilliant buy for me, so comfy. If only I could wear them to work! Grin

I have bought some natal hypnotherapy tracks to listen to which have helped me to relax during pregnancy, not sure how effective they will be for the birth yet though!

No idea as I'm only 6 weeks tomorrow but can I ask about the heartburn tablets and the pillow?
I had heartburn before I even got a BFP and it's driving me mad. And seriously struggling to get comfy at night, I have always struggled to get my hips comfy ( I'm a bit funny about hips - can't have knicker band sitting on them etc. Don't ask Grin ) but it seems so much worse now.

Just to echo the Daisy birthing classes recommendation. I had my baby boy on Sat morning. My labour only took 7 hours from waters breaking to baby's arrival using only gas and air for my 8lb 8oz baby. The midwives said that this was helped massively by the positions I used during labour which I learnt in the classes.

Re: heartburn, I've had it pretty much all day, everyday, all the way thru. I'm kicking myself for not going to the docs and demanding omeprezole. I've spent a fortune on gaviscon and the tablets. I liked the fruity ones more than rennie. All the supermarkets sell them, I take them as soon as it starts.

Thanks feelingblue I'll look out for them. I know it's not bad as symptoms go but it does get a bit much having it constantly!

Weasel go to the docs about your heartburn. With my first I tolerated it for weeks before finally going to the docs mainly because I was exhausted from the heartburn keeping me awake at night. They gave me some tablets straight away and they were amazing. It was like a switch turning the heartburn off.

With my subsequent pregnancies, I've just gone straight to the doctors and asked for the same prescription again.

Wolves thank you, I'll do that!

My Theraline maternity pillow. Definitely should have bought it earlier

For heartburn, definitely skip the over the counter stuff and get some Omaprazole from your GP. Brilliant stuff.
