Baby dropping / lightening!

I'm 33w and omg am I uncomfortable.

For the past few days something has been going on in there. Baby was head down and in 'the perfect position for birth' at my growth scan last week. Now my whole bump has dropped down so I can feel it touching my legs, I can breathe again which is novel but it feels as though I'm carrying my baby around in my vagina. And that she could fall out at any moment. I've got pressure down there constantly and dull aching. When she kicks I feel it super low now. Or at the other end but far lower than my ribs where it was before.

I can only assume she's dropped already and perhaps is engaging a bit as my pelvis feels horrendous. I've been up all night in discomfort and had a really upset stomach.

Has anyone else had this? Please tell me she can pop back out again? I don't think I can handle another 7 - 9 weeks of this Shock ... With her presumably getting bigger all the time and perhaps further down.

I'm going to try bouncing on my ball but any advice / reassurance would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not an expert but it sounds promising! Good luck Flowers

This is me!! I've been experiencing the same thing as of today. 33w + 5. I think I've been having braxton hicks too. One more week to go before I finish work, I can't wait.

@meltingmarshmallows When I was about 29 weeks something similar happened to me - he was all in position, super low, felt like I was waddling etc - had a crazy weekend of braxton hicks and then as quick as he had gone like that, he went back up!

So yes, they can pop in and out, so it may not be permanent discomfort, but she could also stay there for the next few weeks!

Just phone the midwife or labour ward for some advice - can't harm!

It's probably nothing or perhaps it's something .... if it is at least labour ward can advise if you need a quick once over to check your cervix etc

I hear you with the breathing thing / my babies both had their head in my hip so their bottoms were always in my side - one morning I woke up and one of them had settled into my pelvis with their bottom upwards - goodness that was uncomfy!!

Enjoy the rest if your pregnancy however long that is Wink

Thanks everyone! It's reassuring to hear it's happened to others (and that she can go back!). I am keeping an eye on other symptoms but have no preterm labour signs or anything like that to worry about. It's more just a lot of discomfort! But I'll be mentioning it to the midwife when I see her next week.
