Horrendous back&pelvis pain at 16 weeks pregnant

Hiya girls,
As the title says I am 16 weeks pregnant (yay!) but I am really suffering with back, and pelvis pain. It's getting to the point where I can't walk down the road without being in excruciating pain, tmi but all my girly area (pelvis) is throbbing, like it feels as if my organs are just going to drop out of me! 😨
Laying down is a no no because once I'm down I can't get up! It's just agony!
Even lifting a bottle causes me a lot of pain and I've also noticed I get electric all down my left leg at times aswel
This pregnancy has been so tough, I've only, this week gotten over hyperemesis gravidarum so I've attended hospital twice to be put on a drip
My main worry is that if I'm getting this back pain now at only 16 weeks will it be likely to get even worse as my pregnancy progresses? I have a little 3 year old girl and don't remember having pain like this so early on!
I'm seeing the doc Wednesday but was just wondering if anyone is experiencing or has experienced this before at all and how they coped with work and things?
Sorry for the long moan 😢
Thanks so much in advance!!
Jodie x

You have all my sympathy.

Try and get a referral to physio or here we can self refer.

Tips to try - keep knees together as much as possible, sleep with pillows between your knees, take regular paracetamol, use hot water bottles to ease the pain. Sitting on a birthing ball helps, and I’ve been going to pregnancy yoga which is good for stretches and relaxing.

This is my fourth pregnancy, and it has got progressively worse each time - although I don’t think that’s necessarily always the case. This time I’ve had crutches since 18 weeks and been signed off since 28weeks. Absolute rest is the only thing which keeps it bearable at the moment (I’m 31 weeks)

Definitely get an appointment with a physio or an osteopath, sounds like PGP and/or sciatica. I had sciatica early on in this pregnancy and thought it was just going to get worse and worse but with a few appts with osteopath and a masseuse and the fantastic advice from osteo not to push trolleys, limit pushing ds' buggy (because our paths are very uneven here so it's constantly pulling on pelvis) and avoid hoovering I'm now 32+2 with basically no pain.

I was exactly the same!! Bloody awful, horrible shooting pain. My hot water bottle has been my best friend haha, I'd definitely give that a go if you haven't already.

I went to my GP and got a physio referral and an appointment within 2 weeks which was fab! I got some sort of massive tube grip type thing to pull over my hips to keep my pelvis together. To be fair it did work, but I also felt like it was squishing my tummy and my bladder so I ended up having to not wear it. I'm 20 weeks now and really struggling :( x

Aww thank you all so much for your replies! I ended up making an emergency appointment for today as a little walk this morning left me feeling paralysed. Sure enough I have spd and sciatica and the doctor doesn't seem to think I'll be able to return to work for the duration of my pregnancy! And she's 95% I'll have to have a planned c section. She said it was very odd for me to have it at only 16 weeks pregnant and she's refered me to a physio too! Thanks for the heads up about an oesteopath, I will definitely look into that aswel! I will lay in bed with a pillow inbetween my knees and have a stretchy sort of belt thing around my pelvis, must be similar to your tube grip type thing TLH0307.
Thanks again for all your replies x Hope your feeling better soon! 😘

Look up the pelvic pain partnership.

You can prevent further deterioration. I had a home birth with it.

Oh wow that's amazing! Thankyou I will have a good look now xxx

You can get relief with codeine, chiropractic, physio and a good support belt - try Serola.

I started using crutches from about 26 weeks last time and that made a really big difference. I've had it from 16 weeks this pregnancy but not as bad. I worked to 34 weeks 1st preg - hoping to get to the same this time.

Look up pelvic partnership like PP said - there is much help out there.

None of my consultants said s cs was necessary for SPD either.
