My midwife retired without telling me therefore I can't ring her for an opinion. was planning on trying to get referral for spd to a consultant or physiotherapist at mw app, when I went for appointment this week it was with a community midwife this time, I told her that I have spd just to be told it's normal and brushed off. However though I have been reading about spd affecting the birth and being in pain and it's giving me such bad anxiety to the point of crying I don't know what to do or who I can talk to about this. I've seen you musnt give birth laying down and I just can't see myself being able to go through it as opening my legs is absolute agony 😥Also I don't want birth to be damaging to the condition to the point where it doesn't go away after birth, what can I do 😥

I've had my midwife change twice during this pregnancy. Phone the general midwife number and ask any of them. They'll be more than happy to help you considering the circumstances

I had spd with my pregnancies, and gave birth while laying down, the midwife just made sure I didn't have my knees too far apart when the moment came. I found a bump support helped with it in the last 7 weeks of pregnancy. Took around 6 weeks after the birth to go away completely. Try not to let it worry you too much, and like the pp said contact the mw office for advice. Good luck with everything
