Hellooo!

Is it safe to fly at around 13 weeks? Planned a trip before we found out we are expecting!

Thanks in advance!x

Absolutely fine. I did London to Australia at the same stage.

Talk to your midwife and invest in some compression stockings (ugh) to minimise risk even further. I had hyperemesis so making sure I had enough medication for the trip was really important (I was still sick many times but not every half hour!)

If you're having sickness, it will be worth discussing that with the MW as well.

With luck you'll be over all the first tri grimness by then and able to really enjoy it!

Will be fine, if you feel sick let the staff know. I flew in the first trimester and they were very helpful with water & a sick bag just in case Blush

JassyRadlett thanks for your reply and advice! Oh wow! I'm sorry to hear you've had hypermesis. Hope it wasn't too bad!

I myself haven't had any sickness yet but that could all change overnight.

I have an appt next week so I'll make sure to bring it up then, thank you again.Smile

it is totally fine, I did long haul flights at 6 months pregnant!

Make sure you stay well hydrated. I take an empty water bottle through security and fill it up when I am waiting at the gate. 500 ml size or more. Then I dont have to wait to be served water. Also if smells can turn your stomach, take a hankie or tissues with some nice smelling essential oils on them, then you can stick your face in them if the plane gets a bit ripe!

SeaToSki, haha that's such a good idea with the tissues! Might have to try that. I already have a sensitive nose as it is! Grin

The product of the hyperemesis is nearly 2 now and totally worth it! Grin

I was honestly surprised the flight wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The compression socks were a bit annoying, was the worst. Agree on the water recommendation!
