Have lie-ins, watch lots of tv, sit around doing nothing a lot, go for lunch or dinner with partner or friends, lie in bed enjoying the silence!

CaptWentworth · 17/09/2017 22:41

In a word, sleep.

Sleep until you cannot sleep, then sleep some more Smile

strawberrypenguin · 17/09/2017 22:43

Sleep and watch box sets!

Clarabell100 · 17/09/2017 22:45

Another vote for sleep.

Then sleep some more. Watch tv, read books, and just do nothing while you still can!

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 17/09/2017 22:45

Christmas shopping? Wink

londonloves · 17/09/2017 22:46

Me too... 38+5. Going to waddle round the park every day and do some cleaning, sort out my birth playlist and maybe go for a swim some days.

micropig · 17/09/2017 22:46

Ha! Christmas shopping is a great idea!

OrgyofSausages · 17/09/2017 22:47

Deffo xmas shopping!

Jellybabie3 · 17/09/2017 22:48

Take yourself to the cinema, have a coffee in cafe, a long bath with pampering... A!! in peace and while you are able.

MainGrain · 17/09/2017 22:56

Another vote for sleep!
Morning and afternoon naps Grin

lightcola · 17/09/2017 22:56

Do nothing. You will never get the chance to again!!!

Lemondrop99 · 17/09/2017 22:57

Read a great book, or re-read a favourite old one

Binge watch your favourite movies or indulge in some cheesy chick flicks

Eat your own body weight in chocolate

Have a nice long bubble bath.

Read some trashy magazines or pick up some puzzle books and do those

Go for a swim

Go for a pregnancy massage or reflexology. Or see an accupressurist/acupuncturist if you're trying to bring on labour

Do you like computer games at all? I'm playing a bit on our PlayStation, and I've downloaded some puzzle adventure games from Big Fish which are entertaining me and stimulating my brain more than watching Jeremy Kyle is!

Are you creative? I'm making some small things for the nursery, like a mobile.

Meet a friend for cake and coffee. Or gonand sur by yourself and linger over a long coffee.

Just enjoy being alone without a tiny person attached to you. Pee in peace! This won't happen again for a long time.

dede124 · 17/09/2017 22:59

Catch up with some friends? Go to a salon and have some pamper time? X

Appuskidu · 17/09/2017 22:59

I am so jealous-I have such a horrible week ahead of me!!

I vote for sleep, watching lovely films and more sleep!

ICJump · 17/09/2017 23:00

Movies, get your tonsils painted, hangout at baby stores ( there are rumours that if go into labour at some stores they give you loads of free stuff), check out clothes for yourself that aren't maternity, listen to lots of music, read books.

Wheels79 · 17/09/2017 23:02

Go out by yourself spontaneously at a moments notice. Maybe to the cinema. That's what I missed the most.

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 17/09/2017 23:02

Getting your tonsils painted doesn't sound very relaxing!

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 17/09/2017 23:03

Haha I was mostly joking..
But.. If you have any family birthdays coming up in the next few weeks, buy and wrap them so you don't have to think about it later.

I'm weird like that though. I had all the Christmas and birthday presents for the next two months bought, wrapped and on a spreadsheet Blush just as well though, DD arrived the next day

Gazelda · 17/09/2017 23:05

Crikey! Getting your tonsils painted is a bit of a niche service!

I'd go along with the sleep suggestion.
Get the laundry up to date.
Go for a swim or aquanatal class.

I went round the chippy for lunch the day before DDs birth. The staff looked at me a bit odd as I waddled in and ordered large cod and chips. I think their usual lunchtime trade was workmen and kids from the school across the road. One of them said 'are you sure you want that?'. I gave her a hard stare and they gave me the chips. I waddled back home and delighted in the greasy salty and vinegary delight. It was the best meal ever (apart from the tea and toast post-birth).

ICJump · 17/09/2017 23:06

Toe nails, I meant toe nails. Really don't try tonsils painting.

alltheworld · 17/09/2017 23:09

Dine out in a quiet child infriendly restaurant

ShiveryTimbers · 17/09/2017 23:10

Feel smug and full of a well-deserved sense of achievement while looking around at the rest of us 38/39-weekers who are still running around like headless chickens trying to frantically make space for the cot and read last-minute hypnobirthing crap in the hope that we will feel vaguely prepared before popping!!!

PS seriously, well done though. Massage? Pedicure? Read some positive birth stories that make you feel empowered and amazing about what your body can do? Make sure you have filled up the fridge with some champagne, soft cheese, pate, raw fish or whatever else you've been craving but not allowed to eat during the pregnancy?! Oh, and have lots of lie ins. You'll miss them... Grin

Calmisthemantra · 17/09/2017 23:16

I'm 39 weeks and going to go watch IT during the day tomorrow and have a lovely long coffee

therealpippi · 17/09/2017 23:33

34 meals?? Shock very impressive!
All I did was sunbathe and read. I am glad I relaxed as I had to wait 10 more years to do the same but the meals wiuld have been handy.

Can I add, go and buy stuff for yourself. Fancy stuff. And enjoy the stillness and the silence.
