Normal symptoms?

Hi all,
Im 16 weeks pregnant with my first baby, i haven't had it too bad up to now. Only been sick once, felt nauseous a lot and tired but nothing too bad. After 12 weeks i felt much better, almost back to normal with the odd nap thrown in. However the last few days I've had headaches and nausea everyday, its put me off food (never happens) and my lower back is aching. I'm struggling to get comfy and my bump has definitely grown this last week. Just wondered if it's normal for these symptoms to come after feeling better for a few weeks, or whether it could be anything else? X

If something is bothering you enough to post in a forum just give a call to your GP or midwife or your prenatal centre. When you call, specify that you didn't suffer from nausea in the first trimester, nor headaches.

The onset of nausea after the first trimester with headaches, and pain could also be a warning flag for pre-eclampsia .

At the same time, it could be nothing, a virus, .... but never hesitate to reach out to medical staff in fear of being a bother, nuisance or wrong.

Better safe than sorry.

Pregnancy can be hideous with all sorts of rubbish things to contend with. It might just be 'normal' for you, you could just be run down and tired, that always makes me feel very sick. You could have a bug. If it feels 'wrong' speak to GP or MW.

It can be normal, but when I couldn't shake a headache earlier in this pregnancy inbetween mw appts then the surgery was very happy to book me in for an emergency appt with one of the doctors. could just be hormone related but they'll be able to give you a good check over and if necessary prescribe you something stronger than what a pharmacist would allow you to buy over the counter.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to drop a urine sample in at the GP later to put my mind at rest x

As you are there, ask them to check your blood pressure or have it checked in a pharmacy.

I've booked an appt with the gp for later on today so she can check me over properly. I didn't know you could get your bp checked in a pharmacy, that's useful thank you!

Well at least here in Australia, they do, not sure about uk. I know in many European countries, pharmacies do it, you might have to pay something, but very little, more to discourage people to do it everyday , several times per day
