Other than the usual obvious items on most 'lists' out there (maternity notes, clothes for mum and baby, toiletries, phone and charger, money, etc) is there anything else that you couldn't do without and were glad you chucked in?

Some great ideas!

I've packed Pot Noodles in my hospital bag as the toast was vile, I also know the location of the shop, cafe and chocolate machine in hospital.

Ear plugs and an eye mask.

Love the extension lead idea.

I might get some nice lavender pillow spray as I couldn't sleep after my first one (he was in NICU so I could sleep without worrying).

Hand cream.

Ooh defo earplugs! Woman next to me sounded like a fucking john Deere tractorAngry nearly put a pillow over her face!!
Mouthwash too. You will probably be sick and if like me not want toothbrush near you. My dp brought it in on day 1 after he had gone home for a kip and a shower and came back. 'Here hairgician rinse your mouth out, can smell sick on you. That will freshen you up a bit for now'Grin
Snacks cos you will be starving after. And hospital breky tends to be rubbish.

Disposable pants!! And proper maternity pads are important at first to check your blood loss is acceptable - sanitary pads absorb so well an excessive blood loss could be missed. .

Water spray bottle was the thing I couldn't live without when I was in labour.

Take a big black towel for when you have a shower after, the towels in my hospital were the size of tea towels and were light coloured! Asda do them quite cheap.
