I had recurrent thrush in my last pregnancy and it was awful so I sympathise OP Flowers

Some GP's will prescribe the treatment to save you buying it over the counter, also don't forget to get your DP to treat himself as well so you're not passing it between each other.

In the end I ordered lots of pessaries and cream from an online pharmacy (generic type, not brand name) and kept stock in the cupboard so I could apply as soon as I had any discomfort. My GP was fine with me doing this.

As soon as I gave birth it vanished so even though it feels like forever, it isn't!

I suffered thrush throughout my third pregnancy. It was unbearable at times. The cream relieves symptoms but doesn't get rid of it so it never goes. I was prescribed a week of the thrush tablet after my son was born which shows how bad it was as normally a single tablet gets rid of it.

I asked my midwife about it being passed to my baby during birth but they didn't think it would happen. Well it did and he still suffers thrush on his bottom now aged 2y5m! I wish I had just taken the bloody tablet when I was pregnant as it would have stopped my suffering and his too. It's not 'allowed' during pregnancy but not sure there's any evidence of it ever having a negative impact on a baby.

You could try eating lots of natural yogurt and avoiding as much sugary stuff as possible to see if it helps. A good probiotic such as biokult from boots might also help.

Have you contacted your midwife? They will probably take a swab from you. Also when I got thrush I was advised to make sure you place the pessary as far up as you can, because the thrush might be high up & what you're doing is treating the lower part of the thrush leaving it still intact higher up IYSWIM. Also good to do the pessary at night so it doesn't come out.

I recently had thrush at 9 weeks midwife was happy for me to use pessary which along with the cream shifted it but it took about a week and a half.

It's such a crappy thing to get on top of pregnancy symptoms x

I tried the internal cream with external cream and the pessary with external cream and it's come back 😩 it's so horrible I've never ever had it until now! It's getting me down

I had this sooooo bad at the start of my pregnancy. If the creams didn't work, I found at least usingwet wipes (andrex ) instead of loo roll did take the edge off! ! X
