I think OP should get a break here as well because I think if you are worried about any kind of health problem you should get it checked out by a professional! Especially if you are pregnant! No one is saying that all GPs do is Google, however it is quite common. I noticed mine do it quite a lot including once when I mentioned a recent health scare which was a major point of interest all over the news and media for a long time, to which she Googled which surprised me.
I think the OPs point is that she just wanted a rant as she felt a little fed up and she felt a little rushed. But she seems to have ruffled a few GP feathers.
My GPs at my surgery are actually brilliant, really professional and very caring and understanding but I think some are not and fail to see the every day frustrations of patients. For example when you work full time and it's hard to juggle time to go and then you ring as soon as the surgery opens and it's engaged and you can't get through and when you do the appointments have all but gone. Of course that's nothing to do with GPs themselves but most of us are bloody frustrated by the time we eventually get there.
OP you know your own body and if you don't think it's thrush go back for a second opinion. You are not "wasting" anybody's time.
Being told you are time waster is extremely off putting and can be dangerous if you are a person with low confidence. For example I had a reoccurring ear infection that went on for months and months and I got told I was "wasting GP time" not just by one but by a couple and I ended up in A&E I was in that much pain then was referred to a specialist who solved the problem and also had tests to confirm I'm now partially deaf in my left ear due to a combination of the infection going on so long and being prescribed the wrong things. And all this was because of a very common skin condition, dermatitis that got out of hand and spread to just inside my ear and the skin kept cracking, leaving open wounds and letting infection in. So you'd think that with things like dermititis and eczema being so common I should have "self diagnosed" and bought myself some cream but why should I when three GPs didn't even pick up on this? Not that I'm blaming this on them but sometimes it's hard to diagnose a condition whether you are a GP or not.
One of my friends also was told she was "wasting time" on her last trip to triage for reduced movements. It happened again and she was too scared to go back in to tell them because of how she was spoken to.
I'm sorry but if anyone told me I was wasting someone's time where my health was concerned I'd be telling them where they can shove their opinion.
OP we pay our taxes and NI you have every right to see your GP when you want and as many times as you want! You are not wasting your GPs time or bothering them it's what they are paid to do, it's their job. Whether they think it's a waste of time or not is not your concern and any healthcare giver worth their salt would not express this to you.
Whenever I have apologised to a GP when I've made a fuss out of nothing they have always replied with "that's what we are here for and you did the right thing by getting it checked."
So maybe you just have a rubbish surgery.
