Statutory maternity pay - continuous 26 weeks

Sorry, new to Mumsnet. If this need to be somewhere else please let me know.

I have just found out I'm pregnant. I think I'm somewhere around 5 weeks. I'm curious about statutory maternity pay and the conditions to be able to receive it. So my background is I've been working part time for a company since March 2017 whilst I was still doing my masters. My masters continued during the summer but at that time I went to full time from the start of June until the end of September. I start a new contract full time and permanent at a higher wage.

"You will have worked for continuous 26 weeks by the 15th week before you are due to give birth"

I'm wondering if my contract changing makes any difference. So long as I have worked there for 26 weeks, permanent or temporary contract, part or full time, it is "continuous". Anyone have any experience about this? Do I have anything to worry about ?

Early days I know...

As far as I know it is continuous service so you should be fine!

If you have worked for the same company I don't think it matters if your job or contract has changed as you have still had 'continuous service' for the company ☺️

Continuous - absolutely, don't worry!

As long as your temporary contract was with your employer and not a recruitment agency or similar and it has been continuous, you will be fine.
