You need to go back and see your GP or MW and ask for a referral to the consultant. Because there are a number of possible risk factors here - the reason why you needed an x-ray and the dose of radiation you received being two obvious variables.

They should also be able to advise on whether there is a need for additinal antenatal tests, and explain what this all, means for you as an individual.

Worth speaking to your midwife for sure. I had an X-ray and ct scan at 14 weeks. X-ray edit put a shield over my tummy to protect baby.
CT on the other hand was very risky , but worth the risks to rule out / discover if I had blood clots! Baby will have to have special tests when he is a week old.

Back to midwife and ask.

Speak to your midwife/GP but be reassured that the risks are actually quite low and x-rays are sometimes done purposefully during pregnancy (I had about a hundred while pregnant with DD for x-ray guided nephrostomy and x-ray guided cystoscopy)

Hi - you definitely need to ask a doctor and I am not an expert but I just wanted to tell you that I had several x-rays done when I was about 3 weeks pregnant (and didn't know so took no precautions) and my baby was absolutely fine.

Wouldn't worry about it tbh. It's avoided if possible (as they are when not pregnant as well!) but if indicated, will be performed - as a previous poster said.

By all means tell your midwife but I expect she'll just reassure you. Baby wouldnt be thought of as high risk or need any tests as a result.

You can contact the hospital and they'll provide you with an estimate of the radiation dose to the foetus as well as the associated risk. For an abdominal X-ray though, the dose is well below the level where you might start seeing any effects of the foetus so there's really nothing to worry about. (I work in Radiation Protection and produce these dose estimates and risk assessments on a daily basis).

Had the x-ray done because they couldn't find my coil, spoke to my doctor said the risks were small if I wanted to know go ahead with the pregnancy or not.
