Constant braxton hicks at 34 weeks

I am currently 34 weeks pregnant. I have been having Braxton Hicks contractions on and off for the last few weeks with increasing frequency.

For the last 4 hours I have had constant Braxton Hicks. They last for a couple of minutes then subside for a couple of minutes then start again. I've basically been getting them constantly for the last 4 hours.

Does this sound normal?

This is my second child but I can't really remember what they were like during my first pregnancy.

I had this at 35 weeks. They were 3 mins apart and leading around 40 secs. I was high risk of pre term labour so called labour ward and went in to be monitored. I was kept in overnight for obs and they continued for 12 hours before dying off. The labour ward said it was normal and that I would only need to call again if they became painful, there was bleeding or waters broke.

Thank you! That makes me feel a lot better. I'll keep monitoring it for now and ring the Labour ward if it continues. I've left a message for my midwife but she's unavailable at the moment.

34 weeks too and have been having on off regular braxton hicks for weeks.
I've been in a couple of times to be monitored as they were coming less than 10 minutes apart for over two hours. Picked up on the ctg as lasting between 30 seconds and a minute each. No cervical changes though and I was sent home.
They said if the pain intensified or my waters broke to go in asap as my baby is breech also.
They diagnosed an irritable uterus, increasing fluids has made them better.
Have you called your maternity unit?

I'm 35 weeks and have been experiencing the same thing. I saw my OBGYN today and he checked my cervix. It's till closed, so all's well. The fact that the BH are getting stronger and stronger is definitely alarming.

Could have written this post! 30 weeks this week and braxton hicks have been awful - tolerable but awful, pain into my back too. This is DS2 , and I just don't remember anything like this first time round.

Definitely drinking lots of water seems to help! I've been having similar since about 30 weeks.

Thank you for all your experiences and wise words. I spoke to my midwife and she said that as long as they weren't painful, waters intact and no bleeding then it was fine but obviously ring back if anything changes. This morning I've had a few BH but nothing like last night. I really don't remember having them so frequently with my first. I think I generally had around 3 a day.
