Buying crutches?

Can you buy them for personal use?

I've been told by numourous health care professionals that they would ease my pelvic pain, and help me get round going long distance. I've literally been house bound for 3 days. Problem is first physio appointment is a week away, and it's a antenatal "learn your body" one so it's not a 1-1 appointment... I can't book that until after which will be about 1-2 weeks after. It's at this 1-1 appointment I can discuss supports etc. I'm already wearing a support belt...

Really don't want to be housebound another 3 or so weeks. Even just to get to the local shops would be nice.

Anyone else done this? Know where to buy?

If you need them, they'll be provided by your local hospital?

If you can afford it go privately to an osteopath the NHS service for PGP (pelvic girdle pain) or SPD is terrible.

Just no funding and they basically told me that I would need to get crutches (from them) or be in a wheelchair.

Contact these people for their list of people who specialise:

My osteopath kept me walking for the whole pregnancy.

Thank you all.

I can't really afford to go private, just seen Argos do crutches for 25£

Hospital won't provide them until I've attended a antenatal physio class.

Have a look on gumtree/freecycle. People tend to give them away.
