I'm 18 weeks and hoping to buy the pram in a couple of months. Really not too sure what I'm wanting as there's so much choice.
What are you all looking at, at the moment?

It really depends on use - mainly urban? Lots of walking? Does it need to fit in a car? On public transport? Budget? I did and still do major reading up on pushchairs. I'm a bit obsessed with them. I've got two which cover all my needs. Always on the lookout for a third but haven't found one that fits the bill.

Following as I need to get a pram in the next few months. Lots of walking, needs to be lie flat and suitable for naps outside (so warm bottom and sides and good hood cover), doesn't need to fold up small as we'll have a van so will fit in easy in the back, not too expensive because budget is tight.

Orangebird69 · 09/09/2017 10:39

Natsku, is it for a new baby?

Natsku · 09/09/2017 10:44

Yeah, 20 weeks pregnant now and got rid of DD's pram years ago.

AnxietyForever · 09/09/2017 10:49

Yes it will need to fit in the car plus lots of walking. I had the quinny for my son over 4 years ago and loved the parent facing aspect of it.

We're getting the mamas and papas ocarro, because I loved the colour Blush had a play around with it and seems to fold easily etc.

Can't find many reviews online though. There seems to be lots more choice than when I had DD

The Baby Jogger City Mini GTs are pretty good for walks etc. Huge hood. The only negative though is the seat is parent facing only. But they have carry cots and car seat compatibility. Not cheap but decent prices 2nd hand. There's a good facebook group for them.

For your needs, good for walking and outdoor sleeping and not needing to fold small, I would look at emmaljunga. They are made in Sweden where it is usual to let children sleep outdoors. Their carrycots and seats are generous and allow for footmuffs, warm clothes etc. I also found them really good to push.
They are not cheap but fantastic quality and really well thought through.
I bought mine second hand.

madwomanacrosstheroad · 09/09/2017 11:13

Oh and while they are quite big I did get mine into the boot of a renault modus, including the carrycot. (Ordinary modus, not grand) and into an alhambra with all seven seats up.

Ah yeah emmaljunga are quite popular here (Finland), maybe I can get a second hand one for a decent price.

I had a Mothercare orb which I loved - could be easily swapped round from parent facing to outward facing, easy to fold up & was compact, I also loved that it didn't have a separate carrycot as we didn't have much space for storage, instead the carrycot transforms into an upright pram seat when your lo is old enough. also the pram handle height was adjustable which was useful as dh is over a foot taller than me.

Thattwatoverthere · 09/09/2017 15:56

I'm looking at either a silver cross pioneer or wayfair at the minute. I did like the bugaboo chameleon but it's really low down and looks a bit odd with my OH pushing it. I need to check it would fit in my boot easily before actually buying but I think I'll go with either one of them.

TheLegendOfBeans · 09/09/2017 16:00

I loved my Armadilo Flip and you can get them in great condition and pretty cheaply on eBay. Best pram out there iMHO.

BUTTTTTTTT

if you are planning any more babies within two years then get a second hand iCandy Peach x

We went for the Bugaboo Bee as it fitted out criteria

Parent facing option
Suitable from birth (the chair is, but we chose to add the carrycot option)
Lightweight
Narrow (fit on buses, narrow hallway at home)
Easy steer one handed (turns on a sixpence)

Downsides - it's a very urban buggy so won't do brilliantly off road, but I live in London so the urban aspect was more important. Expensive.
