I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and have put on 7lbs so far. Am worrying that this is too much already and when I see my midwife next week she will say so too!
I know everyone is different but can anyone put my mind at rest??

Don't know exactly how accurate this is, but I used this calculator last time and it seemed to be about right:
www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

It gives a week by week range of expected weight based on your starting weight/height. There is a big range though so don't worry!

I'm not quite as far along as you but have gained slightly more! In all seriousness, unless your weight was an issue before I wouldn't give it much thought. I know I'm starting to go back to eating normally, but the last few months have been hell and therefore carb central.

I am 20 weeks today and put on a stone! Was only 7stone 3 before falling so maybe the fact that I was so thin before is the answer! I have been eating more tho!

Stop weighing yourself! Putting on weight when pregnant is inevitable and a difficult thing for any woman to accept. Also, the amount you gain, and when, is totally individual to each woman. As long as you are not eating way more or less than you usually would do, you have nothing to worry about.

Seriously- put the scales away and stop worrying about irrelevant numbersSmile after about 20 weeks I stopped feeling pudgy and flabby and started to feel pregnant, and then my weight gain anxieties lessened a bit.

I asked my midwife not to tell me my weight, as I have a history of eating disorders and continually having my weight gain shoved under my nose is a recipe for anxiety, misery and relapse. They'd probably do this for you too if you asked.

Good luck with your pregnancy!

Helly29 that is really helpful! Thanks!

I'm 16 weeks today and out in 4lbs so far. This is the least I have put on in all my pregnancies. Last two I had put a stone on already as just ate through sickness and nausea

natalieshaw · 08/09/2017 12:10

I agree with hairylegsdntcare, as long as your eating healthy then that's all you can do. Also remember boobs, placenta and everything else are heavy. It's not just a baby that's putting the pounds on. X

I'm 23+5 and have put on just under 9lbs. Everyone's different.

I don't care how much I put on... I do care that I can lose it all quickly after the birth though Grin Want my flat stomach back again!

PandaCat · 08/09/2017 12:32

I got weighed at my 12 week scan last week (although I was actually 13+2). I'd gained 4lbs since my weigh in at booking at roughly 8 weeks. I lost weight with my first due to sickness and not eating so much. I feel like I'm always eating now. I have no plans to weigh myself during the rest of my pregnancy. I'd rather not know tbh.

7 weeks + 5 here and I feel that I look pregnant already. Haven't weighed myself but I feel my stomach looks larger. I guess it's all part and parcel of pregnancy

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 08/09/2017 19:10

I've not even checked to see how much I've put on and I'm 25 weeks tomorrow. It's only normal to put on weight in pregnancy, I don't plan on weighing myself anytime soon!

SheSaidHeSaid · 08/09/2017 19:18

I've been weighing out of curiosity because there's no way I'm going to diet whilst pregnant and I've put on almost 3lbs, I'm 14+4.

I'm sure different people put weight on differently and those who put on more at the beginning might find it levels out later on in pregnancy.

16 weeks and just over 7lbs.
