I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after suffering a miscarriage a few months ago. I have 2 cats and they love sitting on me and getting attention, more now than ever. I know it's silly but I've been putting a cushion on my belly first. I'm only 5 + 2 so still very early and small but feeling extra paranoid after my loss

The main thing you have to be careful with is your is toxoplasmosis which cats can carry and you need to be careful handling cat litter etc.

Keep you hand hygiene up though I'm sure you'll be fine. As for them sitting on your stomach bean is pretty well protected x

Hey im 15 weeks and I have a cat that LOVES sitting on my stomach purring away.

Im sure there is no risk at all due to how protected and buried the baby will be but once she jumped and kicked off my stomach. since then i dont let her lay directly on where i think the baby will be or I put my hand down to protect my stomach a bit. As stated above the main risk is toxoplasmosis I just let my partner deal with the litter tray now and make sure I wash all fruit and veg etc.

Once you feel how rough the sonographer can be at the 20w scan you'll need not worry about a cat sitting on stomach. I felt bruised after my 20w scan to get all the measurements so I wouldn't worry - as long as kitty isn't super heavy of course! Baby is very well protected!

Congratulations!
I wouldn't worry about it causing any harm but it doesn't hurt to get them in the habit early of not sitting on your tummy early on as it's quite uncomfortable as you get bigger. My two cats always sat on my lap but I got them in the habit of sitting on my legs instead and they adjusted well enough.

Congratulations!

I have a cat too, she adores me and is always on me. My partner does her litter box, and I wash my hands after I've handled her etc. As others have said your baby is well protected in your belly, but I understand your concerns.
