29 weeks, uncomfortable feeling in lower back?

Just wondering if anyone else has been the same? Most nights it's uncomfortable to sleep but since this morning when I got up (around 8) I've had a really uncomfortable feeling and almost like a burning sensation in my lower back. Had my whooping cough vaccine yesterday and on Wednesday when I saw the midwife they said they were going to send away to test for a uti as they weren't sure from the dip test. Could it just be one of these things?

Both my pregnancies I had a burning pain in my lower back and sorry to say it gets worse .. try a warm heat pack on it that worked for me or something cool

Thank you, heat seems to help a bit!

I'm a prenatal massage therapist, unfortunately lower back pain is very common during pregnancy. As parislam suggested, heat is really good for soothing aches and pains.

Depending on the results of your UTI test, I'd highly recommend pregnancy massage. You can discuss this with your midwife.
When you're in pain you may not feel like exercising but strengthening the muscles can work wonders too; I usually recommend swimming, yoga or pilates to my clients.

I have this at the moment too. Even when I lay down. So uncomfortable

I've had bad back pain since about 24 weeks (now 35 weeks). I had a pregnancy massage a few days ago and whilst it was one of the most painful experiences ever at the time it has genuinely done wonders for my back- to the extent that I can now tolerate long car journeys of 3 hours+ with ease whereas before I was crying in pain if the journey went over 30 mins. Interestingly my massage therapist told me I was doing the wrong thing by using heat and should be using ice instead... have to confess I've ignored this advice as I genuinely find hot water bottles help! Hope it gets better soon OP xx

Ice is usually used when helping an injury and helping to calm new damage i.e freshly pulled muscle or to help swelling and redness.

Heat is used to help muscles relax and for chronic aches & pains. Most common type of muscle pains is down to tension - this is why hot stone massage works wonders.

Thanks for explaining @ForeverHopeful21. 😊 My massage therapist said heat wasn't right as it would "draw inflammation" to the site of pain... but as a health professional I wasn't sure I agreed with the science behind this, or lack thereof! I know ice is often used in sports injuries though so was curious as to why it would be used.
