Hey all,

I posted the other day regarding my MS which has been awful. I've missed 2 days of work and worked as hard as I can from home on all the other days in the last 2 weeks,

I work in front of a computer screen all day in my job and the screen definitely doesn't make me feel any better.

I'm only 8 weeks and I've not told work yet because obviously I wanted to wait until my 12 week scan.

But because I've not been doing as much as I usually do (I'm now actually doing the same amount as work as everyone else). They're demanding I get a FIT note from my doctors.

Apart from the 2 days I took off as sick, I have made up for any lost hours. I just can't work as fast as I used to. But I'm not being lazy.

Do I have to get a FIT note and tell my company I'm pregnant? I've been with them for 3 years and this is the first time where I've been 'sick'.

The fact that they're asking for this has me worried :(

Are you off because of your pregnancy or MS? If you've only been sick for 2 days you can self cert. A fit note Is a sick note. If you have been off sick more than 7 days you need one but if it was MS put that on it. It's covered by the equality act anyway I would expect.

I missed 2 days of work due to MS. And I've worked from home through the rest of it and made up any time that I've missed @justgivemesomepeace

If you normally work from home then can't see why they are asking but if you always work in office and now you can only work from home, they may want a fit note to clarify that you need to work this way. I.e. You are capable of work with breaks or not the travelling. If you are saying not well enough to come in but still working can see why they want to cover themselves.
If you normally do more than others it's a good time to slow down to normal levels!!

They can't make you work time back then class it as sick. You don't need a fit note for 2 days. If you were off with ms then that what needs to go on any sick note not pregnancy. They've muddied the waters by allowing you to work the time back. I'm very clear on this with my team. If you are too ill to be in you are sick, not holiday, not working it back, not working from home, not unpaid, sick. If you've worked it back then I'd say you don't need a fit note . I'm not sure your gp will do one for 2 days. If they push it is try and get one for MS, but be very clear in future what things are being logged as.

I've got MS and have had to have a fit note in order to go back to work. It was useful as they specified office work only. (I'm a nurse) my work have always been brilliant when I've been off sick l
