Piles - tmi, apologies in advance...

Have name changed for this for various reasons...

Basically, I think I have piles. Ok, I know I have piles, and I am not sure what to do, never experienced this before! Google is currently scaring the crap out of me.

I am nearly 33 weeks, and essentially there are bits hanging out of me where there definitely shouldn't be bits hanging out of me. Not had any trouble going for a poo or anything, but what started out as a little lump, has turned into various rather large lumps that WON'T GO BACK IN!!!! Braved a quick look in the mirror last night, and it is not pretty. At all. As if sex was not a bit of an ordeal before, what with the sweats, the massive belly and the breathlessness, then having the equivalent of a bunch of grapes protruding from my bum really does take the biscuit. I have not obviously shared this (either vocally or visually) with DP.

What do I do??? Thanks to the afore mentioned google, I have diagnosed myself with a prolapse. Is this just 'one of those pregnancy things' and will it reverse, or is my arse just going to continue to fall out of itself.... don't even want to imagine what might happen during labour...

Anyone got any helpful advice? Or can point me in the right direction of what to do?

Thanks in advance, and apologies if I have put you off your tea/dinner.

Oh OP Flowers this sucks!

My sister had piles when she was pregnant but they cleared up with help after six months or so post-partum.

My friend on the other hand, still has the bunch of grapes 2 years on and has been told there's nothing they'll do about it Confused

I think I'm starting to get piles at 20 weeks, which is understandably making me nervous!

Speak to your midwife to see if there's anything you can do to treat them now. Also make sure you're getting enough fibre, fluids and exercise! Keep that poo moving Grin

I ended up getting them end of my pregnancy, didn't know.

I found out just after birth when I thought the midwife was checking my stitches, lying on my side facing my husband. My face was a picture when she violated my bum! 😳

Sorry mate, it's been five years and my anus has never been the same.

You might just have piles, not a prolapse, just sounds like piles. Try Anusol, but it's probably just from the weight of baby so it may not shrink them at the mo. Don't strain when pooing, put your feet on a step while on the toilet to take the pressure off a bit when "pushing". Avoid getting constipated. They'll probably go away/back in after birth, hopefully :)

I started to get piles at about 35 weeks, huge buggers. I remember gently sitting down in the birthing pool and the piles hitting the bottom of it before my bum did!!!! They cleared up after a few weeks and I don't have any issues with them now.

Expectingbsbunumber2 · 29/08/2017 22:16

I got them in my first pregnancy and still have them that was 6 years ago 😭

They're the worst thing ever - my deepest sympathies.

Some over the counter cream will help them shrink and they do decrease after the initial flare up. Use the suppositories too - they get to the root of the problem.

If they start to hurt see a GP as the cream they give you is way better.

Use Fybogel and Lactulose too.

Oh good grief! Thanks for the sympathy and honest replies...
guess I am stuck with them... will try the over the counter stuff and see if that helps...
Shouldn't have googled, should I?
Guess this will teach me for being relatively smug about have a fairly painless pregnancy so far Sad
