Sore, achey hips bones / pelvis, what the bloomin' heck is up with me now?

I'm 10weeks +3 and for the last few days have had a twingey / achey bump (yes, I seem to have a mini bump at 10 weeks!), not exactly a pain, more a dull ache around the sides.
The last 2 days I've also had aching over my hip bones and around my lower back. Also, when I walk I feel like my pelvic floor is about to fall out , when I lie down it abates a bit, but a 2.3 yr old does not for much lying down make!
Had a bit of spotting very early on with this pg so highly paranoid, what on earth is this? I gather it's too early to be SPD and it's in the wrong area too isn't it? Any advice to stop me worrying myself to an early grave would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I went to the GP's yesterday and he just prescribed me with codeine. He said it wouldn't be worth referring me to physio because it would take three months to get an appointment and they don't really like to interfere with pg people! He said its probably just the relaxin etc...

I wouldn't mind but I woke up to turn over in the night and dh was awake (he's an insomniac) and we both heart my hips 'click'. It was awful!

Oh PLP, that's really made me wince! Ouch! Glad you've got some pain relief if nothing else. If it persists though I'd go back and ask again as I've known several women who've been sent to the physio with spd or spd like symptoms, they should be able to get you in if the dr says it is an emergency.
Nadine, I can't for the life of me remember what it stands for but I think it's all to do with the muscles and everything getting too slack too soon. I could be talking rot though, best to google it!

Honor, I know we're in the same county but I expect Health Authorities still vary a lot within it, but here the Physio is self-referral.

When I had SPD the GP gave me the number of the physio dept and I had to phone for an appt with the obstetric physio myself. It might therefore be worth your while checking with your surgery to see what the proceedure is -at least you might be able to get seen sooner.

Hi ladies, reading your post with interest - i'm on my 3rd pg and have had similar complaints to you guys (achy hips, pelvis etc that can get v. painful) in all 3 pregnancys - not spd. - I just appear to be very flexible, things want to move too much...
Def. have good and bad days, found yoga for pregnancy really helped (so long as I omitted certain exercises for opening hips since mine are already too open!), found that the physio wasn't that helpful - supportive, but no improvement, so I'm not doing it this time round - and anything to strengthen your lower back seems to help.

I had achey, clicky, painful hips and pelvis from about 4 months, mentioned it to drs and mws but was told as previous 2 pgs been fine it was just general aches and pains so I struggled on trying to ignore it and not let it slow me down. Finally at 35 weeks I was told it was SPD and referred for physio, am now 38 weeks and have seen noone. Being told it was just normal pg things made me think I was making a fuss and so carried on doing things I really shouldnt have and have probably made it much worse and Im sure physio earlier, a support of some sort and even just some good advice would have really helped so I would say to really push for a referral, see another dr if necessary. Im actually really upset by it all as this will be my last pg and it could have been so different. Getting quite emotional just reading this thread! But baby will be here soon and then none of this will matter quite so much!
