32 weeks breech baby - how can I avoid a c section?

My first baby. In my regular MW Appt I was told everything was fine so I went on my way. Just looked at my notes and it says "breech baby; c sec recommended." This shocked me, she had mentioned nothing about it. I don't want a c-sec, id always wanted a natural birth if the baby would be completely healthy that way.

called the hospital who have advised me to have acupuncture before they try an ECV if I want one. Has anyone been through this? How was it? Can you advise on whether you'd recommend it?

My first baby was breech and I had an ECV at 37 weeks. It failed. It was incredibly painful and felt like a miserable painful waste of time. Fortunately I didn't have any of the serious complications that can happen with ECV. My c-section that I went on to have was brilliant. Despite a minor complication with the anaesthetic it was calm and well organised. The whole team totally put me at ease and it was great. A CS can be a wonderful birth experience and of course the most important thing is that both you and your baby are healthy and safe. I'm now pregnant with my second. I'm currently trying to decide between CS or VBAC. Knowing what I know now about the risks of ECV and my own experience last time, if this one turns out to be breech too I'll be booking straight in for another ELCS. I was offered the opportunity for a vaginal breech delivery but didn't feel quite brave enough to do that with my first baby!

thelegendofbeans because I'm a wimp I didn't fully complain but did say I was a bit taken aback because I'd not mentally prepared myself. She gave me a look as if to say "are you kidding" when I told her my notes said breech but didn't say anything. But I was then so happy not to be breech, I didn't bother moaning any further. Consultant was great about things.
