Just want to know if I'm normal in worrying almost daily that something has or will go wrong with my baby even though I'm now 30 weeks? First time baby and been stressed and not sleeping well, anxious generally anyway and upset about ongoing family politics. Not talking to baby much and worried all of these factors are having a negative impact on its development, in addition to any physical or cognitive impairments it may have. Normal levels of nerves or am I going in to neurotic overdrive??

I'm 28 weeks and I think that some level of worry is totally normal - well at least I am feeling the same way. It's hard to know what's really going on in there!

In terms of your baby's development, I think having a mother who is interested in them and cares for them (which you obviously do) would far outweigh any issues (if any!) that might be caused by stress in pregnancy.

You sound like you're having a bit of a tricky time at the moment, so I think worry is normal, but if you feel the anxious thoughts are becoming intrusive then I'd really recommend talking to your midwife about it.

Yes, I've had three and been anxious through every pregnancy. I think it's normal

First baby for me as well and I worry every damn day. I can't feel the baby yet (nearly 18 weeks) and I'm having a private scan on Sunday to feel better - will also get gender if all is well!
I think I will relax a bit more when I can feel the baby moving.
I'm definitely not as bad as I was in the first trimester, but I had a lot of bleeding so it was hard not to worry!
Good to know other people worry too!

I worry a lot too. I'm constantly worrying about the measurements from the 20-week scan (even though the sonographer said they were perfectly 'normal') and thinking there's going to be something wrong with the baby. I'm now 28 weeks and feeling her move about all the time is definitely reassuring but I find myself worrying more about discovering there's something wrong after she's born 😬

I think a small level of worry is normal but I think this level if excessive constant worry is too much. Worrying about every move you make, how you're sleeping (nobody sleeps well in pregnancy, or very few) etc and how it affects baby, because it doesn't. I never talk to mine, I find the notion bizarre, it can't hear words and doesn't understand them anyway!
