Nappy bin but they split the crowd. I had twins and it worked for me.
Play mat
Bouncy chairs
Old fashioned cold water steriliser
A million bibs and muslins
Loads of bottles
Nuk teats
Moses baskets
Cotbed
Changing station, a must, I did my back in changing on floor
Bath thermometer
Changing bag that's unisex, dh will not want a yummy mummy one
Loads of dvds
Plenty moses basket sheets
Cellular blankets
Sleeping bags for when bigger
I had baby alarms with breathing monitors because I had them in hospital and found them reassuring
Ear plugs
Local teenager to come a few nights a week 5-7 and help (paid)
Nice loungewear or nightwear

Muslins.....all the muslins.....whenever my friends have babies that's what I but for them now....good for Everything! Haha!
I also loved our bouncer....just a big standard one nothing fancy about it but DD loved it.

Buy* not but.

M&P baby bath with built in support

Used this from birth to 12 months for both of mine and they loved it, made things much easier than trying to hold a slippy baby and wash them at the same time and it also allowed them to lay back and enjoy the water/bubbles then they sit at the bottom as a wedge to keep them upright when they're a bit older.

Kari-me sling

Nipper 360 double buggy (I have twins) it was awesome.

Changing pouch similar to this:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000HEE776/ref=mh_s9_acsd_top_bAWUdZX_c_x_2_w?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=mobile-hybrid-3&pf_rd_r=YM9S18VTPV4CQ2P7NM83&pf_rd_t=30901&pf_rd_p=eb57e9ea-1e33-5408-b39e-fc3d1564ac3a&pf_rd_i=9641473031&tag=mumsnetforum-21

A potette (when you are potty training, well worth the money)

Tinydiner hippo place mat (for when you are out and about weaning)

Portable high chair like this (not all cafes have more than one:

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00863FJW2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1503590652&sr=8-1&keywords=portable+high+chairs+for+babies&tag=mumsnetforum-21

Biggest regret - big fancy high chairs (nightmare to clean) should have just bought a cheap ikea highchair and then a trip trap.

A co-sleeper crib.

My Ergo Carrier.

Anytime, Anywhere changing mat from Bambooty. He's four and it still goes EVERYWHERE with us as it's so versatile.

I reckon I could do it all again with just those three things.

We use Aldi's Mamia nappies and have always found them brilliant, much better than branded ones!

Tiba · 24/08/2017 17:23

Mamia nappies for the win.

Keep all sorts of major bum movements contained

SalamiSandwich · 24/08/2017 17:27

Another vote for Aldi nappies and wipes. So cheap too and I prefer them over Pampers (2 children, I've tried most of the brands!).

Lilypad78 · 24/08/2017 18:04

Bouncey chair
Little seat for putting in the bath/baby bath so I could use both hands to wash her.
A friend gave me some old fashioned Terry cloth nappies to use as muslin cloths, not sure where to buy them from but they were brill for mopping up sick etc. Much more absorbant than muslin.
One thing I didn't get but wished I had was a video baby monitor, after she moved into her own room so many times I wished I could have checked on her without going into her room & risking waking her up! Expecting dc2 now & definitely going to invest in one x

perfectpanda · 24/08/2017 19:18

I bought a phil and teds baby carrycot on ebay for a tenner. It's been fantastic for dc3 and have used for him to learn to nap on his own (l don't have a phil and teds buggy, just use the carrycot in the house for sleeping). I found it better than the moses basket as you can settle them in it on your knee/lying next to them on bed , and you can then slide the carrycot off knee/creep away when asleep. I also stick him in it and sit on the swing in garden gently rocking. Works a treat for both of us. They do grow out if it by 3 months though, I'm not sure what I will do next but he has learn to self settle (sometimes! )

Our Tutti Bambini Cozee co sleeping crib - love it for night feeds and being close to my dd. Also she loves her angelcare bath seat and it makes bathing so much easier.

Kion · 24/08/2017 20:39

Sorry this list is so long:

Sleepyhead deluxe
Ergo 360 carrier
Sleeping bags (2 tog and 1 tog - 2 of each)
Jumperoo
Tippitoes mini bath then a bath seat from 6 months ish.
Angel care movement and video monitor
Inovi cocoon crib (we have curious kitties).
Gro egg room thermometer
Braun In ear thermometer
Changing station
Nappy changing emergency kit in car -after a few explosive poo situations on days out - containing wipes, nappies, travel change mat, nitrile gloves, nappy bags, bin bags, change of clothes, bibs, antibacterial wipes).
Puppy training pads (from B&M - 100 for £12.99) used as travel changing mats.
YouTube 'how to stop a baby crying' video- a series of moving black and red dots to classical music. Our little one would spend ages mesmerised by it, it's also a good sensory development technique.
Baby sensory classes.
Sound sleeper app for white noise, put through a speaker - our dd has always been a great sleeper, I think this and the sleepyhead helped a lot with this.
Tommee tippee perfect prep machine.
Hipp organic infant formula and ready made cartons for days out.
Sophie la giraffe for teething.
Tommee tippee nail scissors.
Steam steriliser, we bought two - one Dr brown one and one tommee tippee one, meant we always had bottles ready to go.
Pomade divine balm- great for any little scrapes or bumps. It also really cleared up our dd's eczema.
Earth friendly baby bath products.
Disco light type projector machine with speed function - another great distractor.
Widgey 5in1 nursing pillow - great for feeding in early days and then as a support pillow for baby to rest/sit on. I have used mine (one in living room positioned on sofa and one on my bed) every day since our dd was born around 7m ago.

Things we bought but could've done without:
Ewan the dream sheep.
Nappy bin.
Bottle heater, little one prefers milk at room or cooled in fridge.

Hope some of this helps x

Kion · 24/08/2017 20:40

Oh and I also have always used aldi nappies, never had any nappy rash issues so far (touch wood!). x
