Hi! So I currently am working 3 jobs, and I know I will have to have worked at each place for a year, in order to qualify for their maternity pay, but don't know whether I get pay from all 3 jobs, or if I get just one. Can anyone provide some guidance on this, struggling to get a clear answer from google!!!! TIA :*

You don't have to of worked anywhere for a year? You'd have to of worked for them for 26 weeks before the 15th week of you pregnancy?

I asked one of my managers "just out of curiosity" the other day, and they said you have to have been there for a year, otherwise you can only take statutory apparently

Yes PP is referring to the criteria to be entitled to statutory maternity pay (smp). What you manager was most likely referring too is any additional pay from the company. Every company is different in what it offers and when it offers it. As for the question reguarding your 3 jobs, i'm not completely sure. Do you have one that you work the most hours/earn the most? I imagine it would be more beneficial to do you maternity pay through that one to benefit the most.

For each job, providing you meet the minimum necessary pay per week during the qualifying period (roughly but not usually exactly weeks 17-25), and you've been employed for 26 weeks by Sunday before you're 25 weeks gone, then yes, you can claim SMP from each.

Occupational/contractual entitlement will totally depend on your contract for each job. I'd be surprised if you lost entitlement to OMP in one job purely based on getting any pay from another job - simply because it's a uncommon situation so many companies won't have laid that out in contracts or policies - but it'll depend on each contract and company's policy.

Thank you! The awkward thing is I do more hours in one job but the rate of pay is measly (mature-apprentice) while the other job is half the hours, with twice the pay per hour. The third job is a top up and wouldn't really benefit massively from that income though obviously is great to have!

I have 2 employers have spoken to the Department Work and Pensions about this.

Yes, you have to be employed for them for 26 weeks before the qualifying week (15 weeks before baby is due)

But you also need to earn £113 a week (113×52), which is £489.66 a month.

If you meet both of these on each job, then yes you can claim Maternity Pay from more than employer, if not, you won't be able to. There very strict on these qualifying points.
