Speedboat when pregnant?

I'm just over 8 weeks pregnant and on a pre booked family holiday, part of which involves a speedboat/donut trip tomorrow. I feel like I'm being dramatic but don't think being slammed around on a speedboat whilst trying to fling the other passengers off a donut is a great idea, and I'm contemplating staying pool side and letting them have the day without me. Am I being over cautious?

No I wouldn't have done it. Similar to why you can't go on rollercoasters when preggers. I imagine the impact might cause damage or you could get flung off.

It's just not worth the risk.

Thanks @MissJC, kindle and mocktails by the pool it is!

I have been on speedboats before and usually they are not bumpy rides at all, never got hit by anything or bumped into anything and definitely have not seen anyone being flung off the boat, and usually if it's families on they tend to be quite safe- imagine what would happen if kids were falling off the boat every day!- but then I was not pregnant, so might have thought about it now. Rollercoasters are slightly different as they shoot you off with a huge speed sometimes, etc, so I would avoid these. Better being safe than sorry.

I'd avoid too, although I did continue to ride horses until 28 weeks. Am 34 weeks now.

My work have organised a summer trip with wine on a rib to a nearby island. I'm avoiding. I've been on the trip before (sunset zooming around on the ocean stopping for dolphins etc and wine - is great fun) but even though I'm feeling fine have bowed out.

I was meant to go to nz with dh when I would have been around 8 weeks but as I was feeling super nauseous and hate flying anyway, he went on his own (family wedding so he had to go). We had booked a jet boat trip - he said it was amazing fun but I wouldn't have done that. Had also booked a two day pony trek but even if I'd gone I would have cancelled it. One thing to continue riding a pony I know with an instructor I trust, completely another to ride unknown ponies on unknown land etc.

Kindle and pool and maybe a lovely icy cold soft drink with umbrellas sounds like the plan!

I'm sure they're safe enough but I personally wouldn't enjoy the ride because I'd be worrying about the baby, so better to stay by the pool and relax!
