Hello! So I have a bit of a dilemma and I need opinions. I am torn between two prams:
The bugaboo chameleon 3 (SECOND HAND) @ approx £400 (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bugaboo-Chameleon-3-Sahara-Special-Edition-Pushchair-Pram-Stroller-Parasol-/232421608981?hash=item361d684e15:g:CG0AAOSwbmdZfg0s)
or
The Joie Chrome 3in1 (Brand new) @ £250 (www.mothercare.com/prams-and-pushchairs/joie-chrome-black-chassis-pushchair---red-exclusive-to-mothercare/711761.html?CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=9987437384&CATCI=pla-105146459384&cm_mmc=Google--Pushchairs%20Only--MC-UK-G-Shopping-Pushchairs%20Only//Shopping%20-%20Pushchairs%20Only-_-+-+&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=CPC&utm_category=Google+-+Pushchairs+Only&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImdeOxvbi1QIV47ztCh24wgLfEAQYAiABEgIx1vD_BwE&utm_content=PLA)

The bugaboo is my fave looks and feel wise, but the joie chrome was very close and you do get a car seat included with that system. Also I'm not that keen on buying second hand just because its our first baby and we kind of like the idea of everything being fresh, new and exciting.

WWYD?

I had the Cameleon for my first baby and loved it. Only thing was it was in two parts which got annoying, and did take up a lot of space. Lovely though and would buy it again!

Had the Bee for my second child and that really was faultless. I'd recommend that more tbh. The new Bee has a carrycot/bassinet thing.

I had a chrome and whilst it was fabulous whilst ds was tiny he outgrew it very quickly and he's only 50th centile. I did actually but a second hand cameleon after that and although it was much bigger and he sat better in it I found it enormous and clumsy and heavy. The chrome also folds up smaller and much easier than the cam.

The chromes car seat is fantastic and seems much better quality and comfier than even maxi cosi did to me.

Thanks @WaitrosePigeon.

I love the Bee, but I don't think its wheels are any good for us - we live in the countryside, the chameleon has better suspension.

Ah yes, you would struggle with a bee in the countryside.

Have you been to John Lewis or similar to try them out? See if you can get the Cam in the boot?

WaitrosePigeon · 19/08/2017 12:20

Ps Winstanley's Pram Centre usually have some good deals on Bugaboo products. Also, I recommend the cup holder, its great!

www.pramworld.co.uk/bugaboo-cam-3-pebble-new-leather-handle

This has the car seat and adaptors.

owltrousers · 19/08/2017 13:00

@WaitrosePigeon Yes we went to John Lewis and mothercare to do all the test driving etc, however we don't have a car yet (I'm a learner driver) so can't test that.

Thank you for the links, I think that price is still too much for us unfortunately, it would defo have to be a 2nd hand bugaboo.

We have the chameleon and it's brilliant. It's wheel base is a bit bulky but the flip side of that is that it is sturdy and great out in the countryside. We have had it from birth to a toddler and think we will be using it a while still yet.

VisitorFromAlphaStation · 19/08/2017 13:07

Why not the bugaboo if it's neat and clean?

WaitrosePigeon · 19/08/2017 13:10

Ah yes course, sorry. Forgot you said second hand. Ebay usually have some great deals with the car seat and adaptors for the Cameleon 2.

Orangebird69 · 19/08/2017 13:11

I really didn't like the fact that the straps on the pushchair aren't height adjustable on the Cam 3. Put me off it totally.

owltrousers · 19/08/2017 13:12

@VisitorFromAlphaStation We are considering it, hence the thread. Just torn between a brand new slightly less fancy one and a 2nd hand more fancy one...

Hello owl. We are currently using our joie chrome for our second child. We bought it 3.5 years ago, it doesn't look like the model has changed.
We live in an urban environment, the chrome is very good - is fairly slimline, easy to get on and off public transport, folds up small etc etc. Really good shopping storage underneath. The interchangeable parts come off and on very easily (eg pram to pushchair to car seat). However, if you are in the country, I would NOT recommend! It does not have suspension or pneumatic tyres, so even the flattest country path is very awkward and bumpy to use!
The pushchair straps are a bit fiddly, and the sunshade thing doesn't come down very low - I usually have to attach a muslin to shield my DD's eyes from the sun.
There's not a stigma in getting a 2nd hand pram, it is a very sensible option. Usually they are easy to clean and most parts come off to be machine washed. If you get a bugaboo you will be getting a very decent pram and saving a lot of money.
One other thing I would say is that in a pram showroom, on lovely flat shiny floors, all prams are easy to manoeuvre! It's when you get them outside and try and get them down a gravel path or a country lane that you realise they aren't so great!!

I would highly recommend the bugaboo. We had the donkey for our boys and loved it. This time however I am going for an out and about as we live in the country and are always off road. You can buy an bassinet for it or a newborn insert and you can attach the car seat too
