Hiya everyone I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant with my 4 child a very big shock. Anyway We booked a holiday in April for may 2018 to Ibiza I found out I was pregnant 2 months later. Roughly going on my due date the baby will be about 10 weeks old when we fly. So all u lovely ladies I was just wondering if anyone had tips or advice about taking a baby aboard on holiday thanks

The first thing you need to do is make sure you get the baby's passport asap. So you need to register the birth promptly, and get the forms off straight away.

Your baby might be older than that, if they arrive early, but probably won't be less than 8 weeks. If the delivery is straightforward, then you can expect to be largely back to normal by then (the post-delivery check was always at 6 weeks). But you might not be the same size/shape, especially breasts, though if you breastfeed they might gphave stabilised by then.

You simply can't know what temperament your baby will have, and whether they will be sleeping well. If you're flying, you probably can't take a travel coat so you will have to check carefully with your accommodation what they can offer.

You'll need to take enough nappies to cover journey (inc delays) and remember that nappy cream and premixed formula count as liquids for security. So it's seriously easier to take a BF baby (I took my youngest on a flight when only 6 weeks old, don't think I'd have managed if I'd had to deal with bottles)

Take plenty of clothes and put hand wash liquid/powder in as well.

You might like to try to rearrange the holiday to a destination with a significantly easier journey, if that sounds rather daunting.

Thanks for the reply. I've already looked into the passport looks like I will have to do the 1 week fast track which cost more but ensures the passport is back in time. I know the hotel offers cots as we have stayed before when my son was 16 months I've emailed the travel company to see if they offer Any baby packages like sterilisers etc i am worried about sterilising and making up bottles in a different country think
Last time we went we were told not to drink the water but I'm sure using boiled bottled water should be fine. I am planning try breastfeeding but I had problems with my daughter so will have to play it by ear. Hopefully I'm over worrying and everything will be fine

It's much easier second time round - well it was for me as babies weren't scary alien creatures by then.

Can you see if pre-mixed formula is available at destination?

And take some Milton tablets for sterilising.
