Very excited but also nervous for my first Midwife appointment tomorrow. I've got a notebook so I can make notes of anything she says. What sort of questions should I ask? Is there anything else I need to take along and what usually happens in a first midwife appointment? Thank you!

They usually take a urine sample so don't go to the loo beforehand.
They will ask you eleventy billion questions about your family history and your own medical history and in my case, I was booked in for a 9 week scan. Mine was quite relaxed but took about an hour and a half so be prepared to be there for a while!

Handy thread - I asked the same question on another thread - thanks for the insight Smile

At mine I was weighed and height checked. I had to pee in a jar (you'll get used to this...)

We chatted through my medical history and dhs (so if you can get a list of things which are common in your dh/dps blood family and yours - heart disease cancer diabetes as well as things like pre-eclampsia etc).

I was talked through vaccines etc which would be offered - whooping cough - but not until around 20 weeks or so. But they basically just run through things.

Good luck - and congratulations.
