... as the title says...

What have you opted for? :)

Just get a normal backpack and use a waterproof insert. I have these -

www.amazon.co.uk/Skip-Hop-Black-White-Pattern/dp/B00FZGLKQW

The Knomo bag is classy and roomy and I happily use it as a handbag when I'm out without bubba. The Skiphop waterproof insert stays packed and it slips in out out as needed.

I use a normal rucksack we already owned and bought boots clear plastic travel make up bags for my nappies and any dirty clothes for about £2. I got given a proper changing bag but could barely walk after the birth and having a one sided shoulder bag made things alot worse. I wish I had used a rucksack from the get go.

Storksak, pretty, practical not too expensive (they have a wide range design and price wise so it can be as expensive as you want).

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 17/08/2017 11:04

I've got an il tutto nico. I think they are discontinued now but I grabbed mine half price in mamas and papas. Not the cheapest option but it's perfect for us.

Cheap set, small one fine for newborn and now lives in the car with nappies/wipes/change of clothes. (so we don't need to take the large one if just going to the shops)
Large one in use now as for days out take water/snacks/clothes/nappies/wipes/food pouches and food warming flask
Also use for nursery so has 4 changes of clothes plus a messy play outfit.
Been in use a year now and no issues, though i am looking at a new one as would like one with a wipe pouch on the side, so much easier than rooting round the bag when you have a messy baby

The Aldi change bags are brilliant value...I just hang it on the pram, I've had lots of compliments on it too. It come with change mat, little pouch and a bottle warmer.

redfragglebiker · 17/08/2017 11:38

@Joyofscreamingjoy - So glad you've said that - I've just ordered one online! For under £20 with free delivery I figured it was daft not to!

auntym · 17/08/2017 12:05

Bagabottle black pouch from eBay. Small bag that fits onto pram handle with velcro straps, perfect size, accessible and £10!

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 17/08/2017 12:08

Didn't bother with a changing bag. Just shoved what I needed in my (capacious) handbag. My baby is now two and I still do this. Works fine.

Sakura03 · 17/08/2017 15:19

I like the look of the Aldi change bag. Thanks for the tipSmile, wouldn't have thought to look there for a change bag.

Jellybabie3 · 17/08/2017 15:24

I just brought a lekebaby bag from amazon. Its fabulous with lots of space but also some really cleverly organised and insulated internal pockets. All packed and ready to go to hospital.

minipie · 17/08/2017 15:28

I had one of those Skip Hop Pronto mini changer things. It's just a fold up change mat with a pocket for nappies and wipes. Fits easily into any normal bag. Really useful and better than a massive change bag IMO. I find a "buggy buddy" much more useful for things you need to access easily like water cups, hats, muslins etc.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 17/08/2017 15:30

DH got me a Storksak in tan leather. It wasn't cheap, but I think he partly wanted it so that he had a nappy bag that he could use when he takes the baby out! He doesn't have a handbag and I think he found some of the nappy bags on offer a bit girly!

I would also say that the Storksak seems pretty indestructible! It was expensive but doesn't seem so ridiculous when you think that between two kids we'll probably use the bag for more than 4 years and it would be a lovely laptop bag after that...

redfragglebiker · 21/08/2017 10:05

Aldi bag is due to be delivered today. I'll pop back and let you know what I think as they're still showing as available.

Bonelessbanquet · 21/08/2017 10:08

I'm getting a tiba & mark rucksack as I love them! Plus I'd like both my hands to be free to push/hold hands etc

user1493413286 · 21/08/2017 10:15

I spent some money on a babymel one and love it as it fits all the stuff I carry about and had different compartments to make it easy to find stuff.
I'm a handbag person and decided that if the changing bag was going to take the place of a handbag I'd get something I really liked.

FuzzyOwl · 21/08/2017 10:27

Nothing. You need a couple of nappies, a pack of wipes and a clean babygro. Bung it in your normal bag. Honestly.

I also disagree with this. You need to add to this a muslin (or two), teething gel, teething toy, nappy bags, changing mat, depending upon the weather more than a babygrow (and if you have a teething or refluxy baby you might have to change clothes several times), if you formula feed or express you also need bottles and milk. Then when the child is older you need all of that plus water, snacks, books, toys, suncream, sunhat, perhaps a thermos with food, spoons, bib etc.

I have a big Storksak bag and it is wipeable if any spillages happen but also really roomy and lots of storage space for everything to have its own place.

TheEdgeOfGlory266 · 21/08/2017 10:30

With my first I spent £80 on one of those bloody Yummy Mummy bags. It was battered within a few months and after a while I hated it. I just felt like a sheep. I'm 20 weeks now and yesterday i was in Aldi and they had this gorgeous bag for £20 and I'm in love with it, more than I was with the £80 one.

I got my Aldi bag on friday and I love it! Really nice, sensibly organised and I love the wipe pocket. Also feels very sturdy and well made so should last a bit
