Hi all Im on my 3rd pregnancy I have 1 DD as pregnancy 2 was ectopic. I never noticed it with my daughter I am 14 weeks today but this morning I woke up with a tight feeling in my lower tummy. I then felt my tummy and I could feel a hard ball which I'm guessing is my uterus. Any way it went down I can still feel it but slightly and definitely not as hard anymore.

Is this normal ? Is it a braxton (sorry don't know the spelling) contraction or just a tightening ?

I think it is normal to feel more if it isn't your first pregnancy, your stomach muscles can relax and separate after your first, which makes it easier to feel your uterus.

Or, as my friend got told by me when asking why she showed so early with her second, 'It's ok, your insides are just shot to hell after the first!' Shock.
She did have a very big bump but was back to normal completely shortly after her DS was delivered.

It was probably a braxton hick, I get them very early on in pregnancy, quite regularly too. By 30 weeks I usually get them every few minutes. They are not sore but can be a bit uncomfortable!

Do you have any symptoms of a uti? I'd get your urine dipped at the doctor's it you can (nurse can do it) just for peace of mind. It's probably benign but utis can cause uterine spasms, as can dehydration I think.
