Breech and measuring small

Hi everyone, this is my first post, I had my 36 weeks midwife appointment today, it wasn't my usual midwife though. She was unable to tell which way the baby is lying but couldn't feel the head in my pelvis so thinks the baby may be breech so wants to send me for a scan. She also says I am only measuring at 33 weeks so it is in part a growth scan also. Could it be due to the way the baby is lying that I am measuring small?
I am also quite petite could this be why the baby is small?
This is my first pregnancy so quite anxious anyway.
Thanks in advance xx

Can't comment on breech (I need a scan at 37 weeks to check for this as although baby is head down at the moment I have a bicornuate uterus so if they flip again before then they might struggle to get back down again!) ... but I can comment on the measurement/growth scan as I recently measured 3 weeks behind via the tape measure method so had to go for a growth scan. All the midwives and ultrasound techs have told me straight that the fundal method is a notoriously inaccurate way of measuring- 3 different midwives will give you 3 different measurements so the fact it wasn't your usual midwife probably accounts for some of the difference, also as you rightly guess position of baby can affect the measurement you come out with. Try not to worry and I'm sure the growth scan will put you back to where you expected to be- mine actually put me ahead by 1 week! 🙈

That has made me feel so much better, thank you Smile my scan is on Friday so just trying to sit on my exercise ball as much as I can before then 🙈 Hope your scan goes well when it comes and they are in the right position.
