Snuzpod ventilation?

Hi, we're in the process of getting all the baby stuff ready and are wondering whether to go for a snuzpod or babybay as a bedside crib.

One thing I'm wondering about is why the snuzpod would have good enough ventilation, as it has three solid sides.

I remember reading a lot about cot bumpers in the larger cots causing poor ventilation and for this reason (in addition to strangulation risk) being associated with cot death.

So how does this not apply to the snuzpod (or to moses baskets for that matter)?

Our bedroom tends to get stuffy easily anyway so I'm worried about the ventilation issue already.

Thanks for any advice/insight!

The other sides are canvas and so even if the baby's face was pushed up right against the side, there's no way (that I can imagine) that the baby's mouth and nose (or either one of them) could be covered. The problem with bumpers, I think, is that they are padded.

We loved our snuzpod and will be using it for baby 2, if that helps!

The sides are fabric, it's fine.

Ah, I didn't know the problem with bumpers was their padding. So, does the snuzpod fabric feel thin enough to let some air through? We're very much leaning towards the snuzpod too at the moment, so it's good to hear about positive experiences with it! It's just the ventilation bit that I couldn't work out in my head- but it makes sense that bumpers are comparatively thicker and hence cause problems.

I think it's more that a baby's nose and mouth could get smothered by padded fabric whereas the canvas is tight and so there doesn't seem to be a way it could cover a baby's face...

Oh, I see - thanks! That makes sense. I always wish there were more detailed explanations around for what exactly is dangerous with regard to all the different warnings etc - otherwise I just end up overthinking everything!
