High Bmi and pregnant and so scared

Hi,

I am 9 weeks pregnant with my first baby and my bmi is 45.
My midwife didn't overly worry me about my weight but she has sent me out a leaflet that has scared the living daylights out of me and I am really worried that I am putting my baby at risk.
Has anyone else had a high Bmi when pregnant?

Hi Michelle currently 30 weeks with baby number 2 and I have a similar bmi to you. So far that has meant both my pregnancies have been consultant led but I've not even seen the consultant yet in this pregnancy. I'm having extra growth scans and ive had a glucose test for gestational diabetes which was all clear. My last pregnancy I went a week overdue and went on to have a natural delivery with gas and air and no interventions. There's every reason to hope this pregnancy will be the same and I really hope you have a similar experience. I wish you lots of luck, if you have any questions or would like to chat please dm me x

Hi, my bmi is 48 and I am 29 weeks pregnant. At first I was really worried as my doctor scared me with statistics and everything that could possibly go wrong. But apart from a not so solid bump everything is going well so far! Don't beat yourself up, yes there are extra risks but chances are you will be fine 😊

I think my bmi is about the same... I'm old too (37) so have a double whammy of risks. I just found out that I'm pregnant and am worried but the doc knew I was trying and, although warned me of the risks, wasn't overly concerned.
