Does anyone have any recent experiences with placenta praevia in late pregnancy? Got told that I will probably need a c section, but they also keep saying that any sign of bleeding and I need to rush myself to A&E hmm.

Yes I have. Twice. It is VERY important you go to hospital as soon as you have bleeding. I cannot stress this enough. And yes you need a C section. Otherwise you will haemorrhage during birth. I had mild PP once and Grade 4 PP a second time with multiple bleeds resulting in a premature baby. I have read up all there is to read up about PPs. Don't take it lightly

Thanks LuchiMangsho. Did you experience any bleeding or other problems with the mild PP or was it just the Grade 4 PP?

Nothing with the mild PP. C section booked for 39 weeks. Little one arrived 4 days early. It was as smooth as it could be. Technically an 'emergency C section' but there was no emergency per se.
Grade 4 PP- whole other story that I could write a book about. Luckily my 26 weeker is doing very well indeed (although if he could stop chatting to himself and go down for his afternoon nap I would be immensely grateful...🙄🙄).

Grade 4 PP sounds very scary, but I'm glad it's all worked out for you :-) Mine is a mild PP so I'm crossing my fingers for the next 5 weeks to be uneventful and then scheduled c section. Will still rush to A&E if I bleed though.
