Just that really...
I've worked out I will be 27 weeks and the thought of staying for another 3 months kills me! Confused

33 weeks and 32 weeks. Very stressful long hours job. Blissful weeks of pottering, getting used to sleeping during the day (midwife tip), yoga and swimming. I wanted to stop when I was still functioning effectively at work, I have seen people "work" till 37 weeks and by the time they go off they are no good to man or beast, I wanted to preserve my reputation.

Bluerose27 · 07/08/2017 19:14

I'm on holidays now, I'll be going back to work at 34/35 weeks up until 39/40 weeks

Whereland · 07/08/2017 19:28

I think I'd be bored silly if I finished that early! I'm planning to finish at 37/38 weeks

laura1206 · 07/08/2017 19:28

34 as I had 6 weeks AL to take. I was ready to go then though as I was huge and so tired.

10storeylovesong · 07/08/2017 20:53

I'm finishing on Sunday and am counting down the minutes! I'll be 33 weeks exactly, but mat leave only starts at 37 weeks. The first 4 weeks are annual leave. I wanted to work until later but a stressful, high risk pregnancy with severe anaemia, full time hours and an hours commute either way plus a 4 year old at home have combined to finish me off and I'm on my knees. I also want to spend some of the summer holidays with my son before he starts primary school.

Babyblues14 · 08/08/2017 19:37

34 weeks, started two days ago. Could of gone longer tbh but I had a lot of holidays to use up

minerva85 · 08/08/2017 19:42

40+1

Groovee · 08/08/2017 19:48

35+5 with Dd. Had her 11 days later 🙄.

Saltandpepperpig · 08/08/2017 19:56

39 + 6, left the day before my due date. Was pretty horrendous as my job involved a lot of walking around and (aggressive) public interaction and I had SPD and anemia. Almost considered packing it in at 36 weeks when someone threw a computer at me but needed the ££ and wanted as much time with baby as possible! This time I've planned to go to 38 weeks to give me some time to chill!

BetterEatCheese · 08/08/2017 19:57

29 weeks but I was on my knees with SPD and managerial stress. Couldn't take another minute so saved a load of holiday and took 4 weeks of that first and started maternity at 33 weeks

Mustardnowletsnotbesilly · 08/08/2017 20:01

28 and 31 but I do 12.5 hour shifts in A&E and I just wouldn't be able to cope well. I had 6 weeks a/l both times so went on paper at 34 and 37.

boopdoop · 08/08/2017 20:11

I stopped at 37 weeks last time, office job with 45 minute commute, but I dropped to 4 days and used some holiday for the last 7 week of that which really helped. DS was 2 weeks late so I had 5 weeks which was great but a bit boring in the end!

Thishatisnotmine · 08/08/2017 20:16

35 with both but with a couple of weeks leave to start with. Don't drive and the mile walk from the bus stop each day was a struggle with sciatica. I was so bored the first time but appreciated time withh dd second time.

needsomesunshineandwine · 08/08/2017 20:38

Finishing at 34 weeks, got holidays to use up.

I will no doubt want to go back to work after the 2nd week off 🤣

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 08/08/2017 20:45

I went as 39 weeks and she was born at 41 weeks. Most boring 2 weeks of my life.

Urglewurgle · 08/08/2017 21:40

I'm finishing next Friday at 36 weeks. I'm using 3 weeks of AL that I would've lost otherwise.
I also have to get up at 5:30am for work and starting to struggle with the lack of sleep.

kathrynelizabeth3005 · 08/08/2017 22:13

I finished work at 34 weeks and regret going so early to be honest. I was adamant DS would be early and I wanted to fit my 3 weeks annual leave in so I would lose it through Mat Leave starting automatically once baby was born.

In the end, baby was overdue and by the time he was born, I'd been off for 7 weeks already and was bored to tears! There's only so much nesting and relaxing you can do!

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 08/08/2017 22:21

First 36 and a bit. Full time.
Second 37+6 but only part time so not as bad.

ShortThing94 · 08/08/2017 23:33

This is my first baby and I'm due mid September, Will be starting my maternity leave at 38 weeks. My job is fairly physical and on my feet all day but I seem to be cooing okay.

I feel I'd get bored sitting at home for weeks on end waiting for baby to arrive.. I feel you're going very early but whatever suits :)

BentleyBelly · 09/08/2017 07:36

36 weeks with first. 34 with second...when my contract ends and for when dd starts school. 2 weeks to go...can't wait!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 09/08/2017 07:47

Last time 39 weeks. This time planning on 39 weeks but it depends on what the consultant says next week about my birth options (had EMCS last time).

user1493841671 · 09/08/2017 07:54

With dc1 I finished at 29 weeks, I was working in a private nursing home and felt unsafe dealing with some of the more violent residents.
Dc2 and dc3 I finished at 35 and 36 weeks , working somewhere else.

Rockandrollwithit · 09/08/2017 08:01

38 weeks last time and planning on 37 this time. Luckily I'm a teacher so I'm on summer hols at the moment!

Oldschool41 · 09/08/2017 08:09

I should be going off at 37 weeks as I'm taking 2 weeks annual leave 😀

fluffywhitecarpet · 09/08/2017 08:15

27 weeks is crazy IMO unless there are healthy problems or pregnancy complications. If money isn't an issue then great but will you be relying on mat pay and going back to work after the baby? Because you will have used up so much time before the baby even arrives.

That's potentially 15 weeks sat around waiting. It's more boring than you think when you are used to working.

I finished at 37 weeks and the baby didn't arrive till 42, just over a month was lovely to have at home and just enough for me.
