First time Mammy to be here so sorry if this seems like a silly question.
What does it feel like when your baby kicks. I'm currently 22 weeks but not sure if I've felt the baby kick. I have had a few scans so know the baby is healthy, just my mind keeps being cruel and throwing crazy thoughts around Confused
I know everyone is different but opinions would be appreciated!

A bit like bubbles or butterflies

stepmum88 · 06/08/2017 22:59

I was always told
It was like butterflies but actually I would liken it to when you have wind running round your stomach (TMI- sorry), but then it gets more regular and you realise there's actually something in there moving 😊

22 weeks can be still early I was 24 weeks with this baby. It want feel like a butterfly flutter or as bubble popping in your stomach. but wait till baby starts moving fully, this is my second child and she is much more active and sometimes it feels like my stomach is turning lol. I'm now 31 weeks and she never stops moving. Hiccup's are cute tho

I've been feeling flutters/bubbles definitely from 16/40 becoming more obvious from 17/40, but possibly starting at 14-15/40 (but hard to be sure). Yesterday, at 18+2 I felt two definite kicks I could palpate with my hand in lower abdo.
It all depends on position of placenta and I imagine baby's position.
I don't have much bump and am fairly slim, so I have hypothesized that I can feel movements because everything is probably pretty snug inside. Everyone is unique though. I wasn't expecting kicks yet, but a friend with twins knew she had in her words "two babies moving around inside" before she even had the twins confirmed on the 12/40 scan.

I'm starting to feel movements now at just over 21 weeks. I really feel them when sitting at my desk at work when my tummy is pushed into the desk. It's like bubbles. Also feel them when I lie down then turn over. Some people say to really concentrate on lying or sitting still with no other distractions.

I only noticed mine at 22 weeks. It felt like being tapped or flicked from the inside, just above my belly button

17 weeks here and started feeling odd movements last week that have become more regular as the days have gone on. It only happens on and off throughout the day - generally feel something mid morning, then mid-afternoon is almost a pattern now when I'm sat still at my desk after lunch. I said to a colleague it feels like someone has a fish tank filter inside and lots of tiny bubbles are running up the inside of my stomach! It really tickles sometimes, like someone is running their fingers really gently up your insides. Very strange sensation and makes me want to scratch at my tummy sometimes because it's so ticklish!

I'm pregnant with my third and have f or movements with the last two as early as 12 weeks. I never had the fluttering or popping, intend to describe the feeling as little thuds.

chocolatesa · 17/08/2017 08:51

I started feeling them at 16 weeks with my first and it was a really strange sensation. A bit like a tiny hand was running its fingers up and down my skin, on the inside. I didn't like those very much. I preferred it when it became proper kicks and movements later on.

owltrousers · 17/08/2017 09:01

I'm 18+6 and the only time I've felt any movement so far is when I've woken up in the middle of the night to do a wee and then got back in bed. The baby seems to squirm around and I can feel it.

No bubbles / butterfly wings and nothing during the day yet. Everyone is different :)
