Hi, I wonder if anyone has ever experienced a vanishing twin pregnancy at around 8 weeks?
I'm 8 weeks today. I had an early scan on Weds due to cramping and spotting where a heartbeat was seen on one baby and an empty 2nd second sac- no yolk,no baby; nothing.
Today I am having more brown spotting.
I don't know whether it could be resulting from the second sack - the sonographer said it was haemorrhagic in her appearance.
I'm really worried and any experience would be really gratefully received. Thank you.

I had a vanishing twin in my first pregnancy. At 6 weeks there were 2 sacs and foetal poles but no heartbeats. When I went back a week later there was one heartbeat. At my dating and anomaly scan there was just one baby and the only trace of the other one was an extra lobe on my placenta which was only noticed when my son was born.

Hi op. I had a vanishing twin at 8 weeks with my second pregnancy. I had a scan after some extremely heavy bleeding. My dd was identified and her twins sac was only visible then and a clot and some bruising. I went back for a scan around 10 days later, the bleeding had stopped. Dd was still there and her twins sac was gone and could only see the space where it once was. At 12 weeks it was like nothing had happened in there.
She is now 9.
It's heartbreaking going through all the worry and I'm sorry you're going through this but there is a chance of a happy outcome.

Both my SIL and cousin had a vanishing twin. My cousin also had quite some spotting. They both went on to have the remaining twin. A boy and a girl respectively who are little lovely troublemakers.

Don't worry too much, it is more common than you think because we have such scans now. Our mothers generation just wouldn't have known.
