Weaker movements

Hi everyone, just wondering if any of you have had any experience of this. I'm 36+4 weeks and for the past three days baby has been quiet compared to how he usually is. The movements have decreased some what but the main difference is how strong they are. They feel more like they did 6 weeks ago rather than the powerful ones he's been giving over the past fortnight or so. I've been monitored twice since Monday and had a scan and everything has come back ok but my problem with this is that I press the button to show I can feel movement but it doesn't counter in the fact that although he is still MOVING, his 'pattern' and force are completely DIFFERENT. The hosp sent me home to monitor and it's the same situation again- is this normal or do I annoy the hospital again and go back in??Confused

I'd go bk...better to be safe!

When I went in for monitoring they said that they were picking up movement, but I told them that I still wasn't happy and then had a scan, I went into labour naturally five days later and all was fine, but had I continued to feel unhappy I would have absolutely gone back in for monitoring and explained that I still wasn't happy with the movement. You are not annoying them, you are doing the right thing, which is getting checked out as many times as.needed.

Go back. Trust your instincts. Don't be fobbed off. It's possible that he's just changed position or something but not worth the risk. All mine had to come early after repeat episodes of reduced movement. Middle one was really not so well at first (but quite fine now aged 4.5)

Phone and explain how u feel, they'll prob want u to come down again or offer u advice, never take risks and assume everything is fine. All the best x

Hi, i'm a midwife and my advice would be to go in and be monitored. You're not annoying the hospital - we want positive outcomes. It's probably nothing but, if it's making you worry, it's something!

This happened to me for a few days aswell and turned out baby had moved from back to back and that's why I wasn't getting the movements kicks etc as hard as I once was. Baby then moved back to back to back and movements went back to normal. As people are saying tho if ur not happy go back and get monitored again. Defo don't put off if your not happy. Hope it turns out ok and baby has just moved position x

Thank you for your replies everyone. Baby did give some strong kicks late last night, biggest ones I've had since Sunday, so hoping today he will carry on with them. If not I will have to go back in, wouldn't be able to stop worrying otherwise. Thanks again x

I had this a week or so ago, but I didn't go in as I could tell he had turned around which is why I couldn't feel him the same. After s day he was back in this usual position and kicking as normal.

I was confident that he had moved position with his limbs onward tho, if I hadn't have been then I would have called.
