Fed up with poor sleep

I'm 35+6 and have slept like utter crap since the beginning of my pregnancy. Now it's heartburn and baby kicking my ribs, not to mention back ache and knee ache and thigh ache.

The one constant has been my total inability to block out noise - specifically DH's snoring. Even the sound of him breathing annoys the hell out of me. I've tried earplugs on and off but they make my ears sore and don't even come close to blocking out the sound of him. Even the sound of my own breathing or the sound of my heart beating irritates me.

Please tell me this noise sensitivity will pass when the baby is born. I'm not sure I can cope if it carries on. At least now I can go to the spare room but that option won't be available once baby gets here. I'm so over this pregnancy!!

I slept ten times better after Ds was born than I did for half my pregnancy. I didn't really sleep well, had restless legs and pgp. Rolling over was a challenge and baby would be beating the crap out of me all night.

When he was born the pain went, the sleep difficulty went and I could sleep on my back again. It was me that snored awfully when I was pregnant and my OH risked his safety every time he woke me up to tell me!!

You have my every sympathy, but in my experience sleep has been much better with a baby than it ever was pregnant!

Agree you'll sleep much better once the baby is here!

Well that's a relief. At least once baby has arrived I'll have a reason other than my own body to be awake at 2am Smile

And I can't wait to sleep on my back again!

During pregnancy I kicked my husband out of bed to the spare room ALOT! His snoring drove me crazy - and still does now the baby is here I'm afraid. I sleep with ear plugs every night because I think I'm still really sensitive to noise as I'm listening out for my little girl. However my sleeping did generally improve once she arrived as I was so much more comfortable. The first time I could sleep on my front again was heaven.

Oh I really feel for you! I'm 33+5 and the lack of sleep is killing me! I feel bad complaining about it to DH though cos I've started mat leave so it's not like I have to go anywhere or do anything if I don't want to (and can try to get an hour or two of sleep in the daytime), but it's just getting so depressing spending so much time awake in the middle of the night. Heartburn is terrible too. I don't think anyone understands how bad it can be when you suffer from it night after night. I'm literally counting down the days until I give birth!

Yup, I'm another one who slept much better after each of my babies arrived than I ever did when I was pregnant. I had severe SPD, a permanently blocked nose, leg cramps at night, even plain old insomnia. How I used to chuckle when helpful folk said to me, "Enjoy your sleep now, you won't get any when the baby comes!"

Sangria - I feel bad complaining to DH too. I said yesterday that I get bored listening to myself bitch and moan about feeling uncomfortable/ tired/ sore. It must be even worse for the poor sods I'm moaning at Grin

DH moved into the spare room 2 months ago and it helped - I'm 36+4 now
