Yesterday I fainted in the queue in Costa - I wasn't feeling great all morning so popped in to get a cake and a drink but whilst I was queuing I started to feel really ill and before I knew it I came to and a man was sat next to me on the floor asking if I was epileptic ... I was vaguely aware of shaking but it was all very odd and I couldn't remember going down at all and I was so clammy. I was really embarrassed and I was on my own and really shaken by it.

Since then I haven't been feeling quite right- a bit light headed but nothing major I can say that is wrong, just not right. I have quite low blood pressure anyway so wondering if it's just super low at the moment.

I've tried to get mw appt but she can't see me and the GP didn't have any Appts. They said to ring tomorrow to ask for an emergency appt if needed but I'm worried I will be completely wasting their time.

Has anyone else had similar and was it just BP? Or could this be linked to a urine infection? This is my second rainbow so I'm a little anxious about everything.

I fainted at 33 weeks pregnant and ended up being admitted into hospital for observation. If I were you I would have and still would phone your pregnancy triage department at your local hospital and explained everything to them. They are out of hours and can give you advice on what to do. You can phone at any time. I wouldn't leave it if I were you. Could be just a case of low bp but you never know. Better to be safe. Look after yourself and little one :)

Thanks I hadn't thought to phone as I thought I had to be further along to call the hosp. We moved so I have a new mw I haven't met yet and with my first 2 pregnancies I had such a wonderful mw who would have always squeezed me in but I guess they are all just so busy. I think I just need some peace of mind and know everything is ok.

You can phone triage at any point after 12 weeks I'm sure it is. Before 12 weeks you phone the early pregnancy unit. That's how it is where I stay. I think it's worth a call, they can give you advice ECT. It'll put your mind at rest hopefully. Fainting is more common in pregnant women but it can also be a sign something isnt right and if you have low bp the it's worth calling for some reassurance. My midwife and the midwives at my hospital always encourage to phone if you think something isn't right.

I've fainted a lot this pregnancy and they have put it down to low BP.
Everything else they have checked has been fine.
I'm now 24 weeks and although I've felt faint today, I've not actually blacked out for 8 days now so it does get better.

I fainted at 15 weeks on the train - it was horrible, I bit my tongue really badly and was very sick and shaken for a couple of hours afterwards. Saw my midwife the following week for 16 week appointment and they couldn't find anything wrong (BP and iron fine) think I had just been stood too long on a hot and busy train! Another joyful pregnancy thing! Pleased to say out hasn't happened since, I felt it coming on again a couple of weeks after the first one and managed to prevent it by sitting with my head between my legs as soon as I felt funny.

However if you are still not feeling right definitely try and get an appointment as soon as you can to get checked over, you won't be wasting their time Smile

Thank you all - I've been checked out and all ok thankfully. Just told to rest a bit more.... which is a challenge with a 2 year old! I hope none of you have any more fainting spells - it really isn't nice!
