How do you know you're exhausted and not just tired?

Hello, I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have an 18mo DD. We just moved house abroad and I'm under the care of a gynae and a cardiologist in our new country as I have a pre-existing heart condition.

I'm taking plenty iron (prescribed) and eating lots of floated and felt like they were helping...but I'm back to struggling to get up two flights of stairs in our house, sighing all the time, feeling like I've just run a 5k, sore muscles, some nausea, "period pains", and just being utterly zombified.

I'm due a call from my doctor but I can't tell if I need to man up and accept I'm just tired or if I'm exhausted and missing the signs?!

Ps: DD sleeps like an angel - twelve hours undisturbed. I get about six.

When I have been exhausted, rather than tired, I haven't needed to question it. Regardless, pregnancy can be tough so go easy on yourself.

It's not surprising that you're shattered! Do try to take it easy and ask for help when you need it.

Well, the doc just called back and they want me to go to the ER. It's all a bit full on because in this country they are very risk averse and they also all clock off at 4pm!

Shit. I feel so crummy, I'd rather taser my pubes than be at the hospital for hours.

I have MS (diagnosed when dd was 2). Fatigue is a big part of it and there is a difference between fatigued and tired.
No, I am not saying you have MS -fatigue is fatigue and not exclusive to MS. With MS , your body is acting like it has a virus e.g. Flu. So that's why you get fatigue in MS.
Often described by MS-ers as like "swimming in mud". Or running on empty. Or your body is focusing on the bare essentials because it is so fatigued. That kind of feeling.
Sounds to me like you are proper worn out.
I know when I am tired and I know when I am fatigued. When dd was small I used to joke that I found some special parent energy from somewhere to do what I had to do and nothing more. Turns out, because it was a bare essential, I could do it.
Again, you feeling like this does NOT mean you have MS . Your body is telling you to stop. Speak to your gp about managing it.

Well I'm still here and bored shitless. I'd do anything for a crossword.
