Is it too much to ask that all the fat pregnant ladies could stop buying all the fat pregnant lady stuff so I, as a fat pregnant lady, can buy some fat pregnant lady stuff? Literally everywhere I've looked is out of stock in my size. It's impossible to buy a size up in normal clothes now as it's bottom half clothing that's the issue and I just need some over bump stuff.

Also: WHY IS EVERYTHING ONLINE FFS I JUST WANT TO BUY IT IN A SHOP LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING FOR ONCE.

Sorry. I feel a bit better now. Blush

Im a size 18 and im wearing asda maternity clobber its cheap and cheerful , fits and washes well, did have to buy online though

Doughnutsandrainbows · 24/07/2017 16:15

I agree with you about the online... only shops here with may wear are jojo and Mothercare :(

Jessiecat27 · 24/07/2017 16:18

New look have a 'curves' section, that's good for tops! I haven't bothered with pants yet as I can just about squeeze into jeans but leggings are comfy, you could just buy a size up and floaty dresses!

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 16:25

It is awful I know x But at least they make it look fashionable now. You should see the rags my mum had to wear when she had me. It looked like granny clothes. And thats not just the time period either as normal fashion at that time wasnt that dior, just preggo clothes. Im glad they make an effort now

Gothbaby · 24/07/2017 16:26

I think no matter what size, maternity shopping is shite. Like... i love to browse and try things on but after the 8th shop tells me " we have a pregnancy section.... online!" I give up :( x

Bumdishcloths · 24/07/2017 17:16

Yeah the online thing is what's bothering me the most at the moment - usually I love shopping online but at the moment the faffing about of returning things if they don't fit is just too much 😂. Couple that with my size being unavailable and it results in a meltdown haha!

I'm wearing leggings and T-shirts until the baby arrives.

Mymouthgetsmeintrouble · 24/07/2017 17:24

Yours have a maternity section a bit on the expensive side for my liking but i think thats online only too

Amd724 · 24/07/2017 17:49

I've discovered Evans leggings will fit right over my bump without a problem. I'm currently wearing some Mothercare tops, and I do plan on being in preggo tops and leggings until I'm due. That's another 15 weeks! It's really disappointing that I cannot try on maternity clothing in the store, other than the small amount Mothercare has. It's a bit exhausting to order in clothes and then keep sending it back because they don't fit properly.

Lemondrop99 · 24/07/2017 23:36

Yes I struggled to find stuff on the high street, ended up having to order online. Got some good stuff from Dorothy Perkins in the sale

Courtney10891 · 24/07/2017 23:38

Topshop and asos are best!!! X

You will only shop ON LINE.

You will get to know the lady in the POST OFFICE very well with all your returns.

You will LEARN to like STRIPES.

You will NEVER find a comfortable bra.

You will never be the SAME SIZE in different brands.

You will find UNDER the bump trousers will fall down / expose your bottom crack.

You will constantly fidget with OVER the bump maternty trousers.

You will find your feet SPREAD so even your pretty shoes no longer fit.

Your boobs will POP OUT, mid swim, of your maternity swimming costume, you might not notice till someone points.

Your mother will look you up and down and FROWN, without uttering a word, no matter what you wear.

You will eventually give in and wear the same pair of DUNGAREES, without worrying you look like a hippy / decorator /kids tv presenter because they are the most comfortable item you fit in (and they are not stripy).

After extensive research, and much swearing, I'm sticking with expensive dungarees from Jo Jo and cheap and cheapfull tops and jeans (over bump) from Asda, both true to my pregnancy size.

Beachbaby2017 · 25/07/2017 02:10

I hate that it's all online!

And, for the moment, I don't have a credit card from the country I live in and one of the main places to buy maternity clothes online only takes local credit cards, so I have to borrow a card from family to order, and because I don't know my size or how anything will fit, I place huge orders, which is a lot to ask of someone else's credit card! So I've given up.

I've had decent luck second hand actually because at least I can browse in person.

fatfingeredfran · 25/07/2017 02:30

I feel your pain with the online shopping.

I now refuse to wear trousers or jeans. They fall down and don't stay up for more than a 10 step waddle. I now have 6 pairs of black over the bump leggings and they are all I wear (well tops as well obv)

DuggeeHugs · 25/07/2017 05:50

monkey is spot on about the stripes! I avoid them in non-pregnant life in case anyone thinks I'm actually pregnant as it's a sort of uniform to identify pregnant women with Grin

AgentCooper · 25/07/2017 14:29

Oh it is absolute shite. I hate having to get everything online. I'm still wearing pre-pregnancy tube skirts under my bump, but with a Gratlin bump band I bought from Amazon. It's a lifesaver - lovely, long and wide, which is just what I need as I'm tall and curvy. The bands from Jojo cut me off about mid-bump. It was pretty cheap too.

In terms of sizing, if it helps, I've found Red Herring at Debenhams, Vertbaudet and Jojo (the latter two in the sale) true enough to size and Asos and Boohoo a bit smaller but cheap and better quality than I expected. I've not worn trousers in months - skirts or dresses every day now.
