Morning Sickness

My DP and I are expecting our first child. She is 8 weeks pregnant. But she suffers from, what I think, serious morning sickness. It is getting to the point where she can't keep anything down and prays to the porcelain gods for roughly a hour a day.

Have anyone you suffered with bad morning sickness and do you have any tips on how to combat it?
Thanks

I have had terrible morning sickness throughout and I am almost 25 weeks.

The worst I got was when I was vomiting bright yellow bike for over 40 hours. Couldn't even keep sips of water down. If she gets like that you should probably think about going to hospital for some fluids and anti sickness medicine.

If it's not that bad then sips of water. Dry toast. Dry crackers. Dry bread. Sour things can help too. Sour ice lollies. Granny Smith apples.

Could be hyperemesis - I had it up until about 20 weeks. Best to get straight in to see your GP - try and find out if they have anyone at the surgery who has dealt with it before/is sympathetic... I was lucky - my GP was bang on trying to sort the problem as quickly as possible, but that is by no means universal. Has she lost any weight? Is she able to keep fluids down? Roughly how many times a day is she being sick?

Her weight seems to be steady, she keeps nothing down in the morning. But drinks plenty of fluids in the afternoon to make up for it. And physically sick between 1-5 times a day.

And thank you for the tips mrsjkerry

Might be worth checking in with GP anyway, but I think even if it's not hyperemesis morning sickness can just be pretty rough. Best advice is try to eat little and often - an empty stomach, in my experience, makes the nausea and sickness worse. Hope she starts to feel better soon... grim as it is, you do just sort or recalibrate and get used to it after a while, but it is a shock to the system!

With all my pregnancies I was pretty bad sick. I am a mother of two and expecting for third one. With the first one I had to live with it although I tried every possible way to subside it except using meds but failed. But with my second baby, I found a remedy which worked great and ended up my nausea and vomiting. With the help of no to morning sickness tea I managed my morning sickness with my second and third.
