Anyone been referred to occupational health for a pregnancy related illness?

I have hyperemesis and have been signed off for 4 weeks in total. My manager has referred me to occupational health, and I'm really worried about it. Am I being paranoid? Has anyone else got experience of this? I work in the NHS, so their policies are very clear that pregnancy related illnesses do not count towards Bradford factor or absence management procedures. So why am I so worried that I'll lose my job? Maybe it's the hormones and general anxiety but I work in a small team and feel like they're annoyed even though they're being outwardly supportive.

Try not to worry. They're just ticking off a box to make sure they've done everything correctly. They'll just want to talk to you about how they can make your job more workable. It'll be fine

I don't work in NHS but our public sector organisation has a trigger point of 10 days absence before an OH referral is made as standard. It is to look at any adjustments they can make to assist people back to work as early as possible. It has nothing to do with the absence policy and as you say pregnancy related illness cannot be counted in that in any event. Try not to worry

I also work in NHS. Was referred last pregnancy with PGP who basically confirmed that I couldn't work as my manager would not make any adjustments to accommodate me.
Please don't worry. You can't lose your job. It's just procedure and the occy health nurses are usually really nice!

Another NHS worker here who is currently signed off at 29 weeks, as PP have said you won't lose your job. If you need support please seek it OP, I felt uncomfortable doing so but a week later I know it's been the right decision for both me and bump x

I'm a nurse and was signed off by my GP with SPD at 20 weeks. Automatic referral to occy health, was barely there 5 minutes. It's a tick box exercise, don't worry!
