Has anyone else experienced or experiencing PUPP rash? Apparently it's quite common in the third trimester and it is usually when your carrying a baby boy?
Is this true? Because I was told I have a PUPP rash and I've checked 1000x that I'm having a baby girl.. and if anyone has had anything like this.. what is the best things to cure the itching? Blush

I had this and had a boy but is does affect people carrying girls too.

I found slathering myself with E45 cream helped a bit together with cool baths/showers whenever possible. I also bought some of that cooling spray they sell for heat rash etc and that helped a bit.

The doctor game me a steroid cream but I didn't find that made much difference although you can see if it works for you.

You have my sympathy, it was the worst thing about pregnancy for me and I had a shit pregnancy!

I have this too.. I'm also carrying a girl so don't panic too much I think it's just a bit more common in pregnancy with boys than with girls but it's not an indication of the sex of the baby, I use the aveeno cream and it's worked wonders so much less itchy and red! I can't get my hands on it now but it's in a squeez bottle and it's blue and beige not the green, although I'm sure that's just as good (have used in the past but not for this) xx

I had this, I had a girl, it's fucking horrible. I'm one of the very lucky few for which it gets worse after the birth Sad

You can get calamine lotion and cream to sooth the itching and you can take piriton
Your doctor might give you a hydrocortisone cream while your pregnant but they wouldn't give me anything until after the birth Sad

I eventually needed a course of oral steroids to clear it up with a prescription strength steroid cream and prescription strength antihistamine pp. If it gets worse after the birth make sure the Dr. On the postnatal ward prescribes you something for it before you are discharged I had to go to the walk in 2 days pp and the GP 4 days pp. Stitches/ swollen lady bits and waiting room chairs don't mix well Sad

Mine got worse after the birth too! It was worse than the pain from the c-section. I found the doctors were a bit dismissive as it isn't "serious" if you know what I mean. The itching was just horrendous though.

You have my sympathy. It is awful (and 'not serious' Angry). Calamine lotion worked a bit for me and steroids did nothing at all. My obstetrician said to get piriton (NOT the non-drowsy stuff) so you can sleep -- it says don't use in pregnancy but she said don't worry about that.

Oats in the bath was supposed to work (put them in some tights first or your drain will get blocked) but I wasn't amazed by that.

Mine started clearing within 2 hours of the birth though.

I've got this! I'm only 15+3 but had it since about 6 weeks which I think is unusual. Got allergy tablets from the Drs and use zero base cream, cool baths and calomine lotion help. But still the itching is unbearable, I come up with heat rash like lumps that looks like I've been swimming in nettles, could cry sometimes x
