So I was wondering about this when talking to my pregnant friends the other day, comparing notes.

I'm only 14+4 so nothing too rocky yet. Worst thing I can say so far is the back pain in my tailbone, thats a fairly new one. I'm guessing the worst is still to come. Prepare me?

The daily, unrelenting heartburn has been horrible, and shows no sign of stopping (27 weeks). The antenatal depression and moodswings, sometimes feeling fine, other times feeling really low... the unrelenting exhaustion and nausea. The pressure of the baby on my stomach has been like a gastric band, i havent gained a single lb yet and my tastes have really changed - I can't eat healthy, tasty, interesting food anymore.

I'm so fed up of the whole thing. It's my first pg and will certainly be my last.

whattheheckinheck · 22/07/2017 18:07

The anxiety. Worrying about stupid things and things I'd never even considered.

The waiting is killing me as well. I've never made it this far (39+5) and while I have thoroughly enjoyed this pregnancy I was ready 3 weeks ago!

@feelingblue123
I hear ya! I could have written your post.

I am 16 weeks and hate everything about pregnancy so far.
I have hyperemesis. Crippling nausea and excessive vomiting.
Bleeding mouth / gums.
I'm so low.
Heartburn is unbearable.
Energy levels are low.
Uninterested in everything.
Socially isolated as so sick.
Constipation which causes lovely rectal bleeding.
No appetite.
Restless legs.
Anxiety due to being off work.
General anxiety.
Insomnia.

feelingblue123 · 22/07/2017 18:29

Crap isn't it....and goes on forever. I can't remember a time I felt normal. I'd sell my granny to be at the end now. Nosebleeds too, all the time. I have a catering business that i havent been able to work at due to the nausea, appetite thing and not being able to be around food so have lost a shit load of money this year and am essentially broke. Also, sober.

I've had some shit times in my life but nothing is as bad as growing a baby.

thingymaboob · 22/07/2017 18:42

@feelingblue123
It's so refreshing to hear another pregnant lady say that! I am surrounded by blooming women who've had magical pregnancies and who I just want to strangle with their smugness!

Annie1290 · 23/07/2017 12:26

thingymaboob and I could of written your post!
Also very jealous of the smug pregnant people that for some reason I had always imagined being. I am definitely not a member of that club!

SpringtoSummer · 24/07/2017 10:10

It sounds shit but why assume people who aren't suffering are 'smug'?

thingymaboob · 24/07/2017 10:51

I'm not assuming that all people who aren't suffering are smug! But when you're unwell and suffering some other pregnant women do tend to make really insensitive comments and some are genuinely smug. How have you jumped to thinking that I think that all unsuffering women are smug? I have vomited daily for 9 weeks. You get really sick of people being insensitive.
Here are some of the comments I've had:

  1. Gosh, you're getting every pregnancy symptom going! I have to say that I never felt so well as I did during pregnancy. I was absolutely blooming. It was the best 9 months of my life.
  2. in response to me saying that I felt like hell and have never felt so unwell "you shouldn't complain. It's a miracle that's growing inside you. I'm so excited to meet my bundle of joy"
  3. in response to me saying that the only food I can stomach is hula hoops and plain wraps "have you tried a smoothy? I make an organic nutribullet every morning as I want my baby to have the best start. I find it really helps settle my stomach. Have you tried ginger?"

So yeah! When you're having the pregnancy from hell and you're dehydrated, low in energy and mood some women will be utter pricks to you.

mrsbumblebees · 24/07/2017 11:10

I'm so reassured to read that lots of other women have said anxiety, I have been very lucky in terms of physical symptoms (so far!) and really feel for those of you who have been suffering so badly with pain and sickness. For me, the anxiety has been absolute hell and I've not coped well at all, it was something I really didn't expect and I am in awe of those who seem to go through their pregnancies confident and carefree, I don't know how they do it, I have been a nervous wreck.

CherriesInTheSnow · 24/07/2017 11:16

I'm 24 + 3 and things have been very breezy this time, I was sick with my daughter until around this time so this time in comparison things have been great!

However the last couple of weeks I have found really draining, have had my blood tests back and looks like I may have a few different things going on, and googling each separate thing, each one increases the risk of premature birth, so I am trying to get my head around that and am in limbo waiting for appointments and blood tests etc :(

I'm young and reasonably healthy, although my weight crept up a bit in between pregnancies I was only pregnant with DD 2 years ago and despite being sick with her everything throughout pregnancy, labour and birth was very straightforward, so this is all a bit of a shock.

Sorry for ranting, I've only found out about all this this weekend so it's all very new and weird still!

Ratbagratty · 24/07/2017 11:50

15 weeks here, I've had no symptoms past week 2, so I am constantly worried something is wrong or is not growing. Not really getting my baby bump yet either.

TheLegendOfBeans · 24/07/2017 11:56

Weight gain
Tiredness....god the tiredness
Replacing fags and wine with sweets
Conducting and executing an international move at 22w pregnant
Realising I'm more homesick for the UK than I could ever have imagined - and not being able to tell if it's "real" or just hormones
Crippling anxiety weeks 0-24

BUTTTTT

I'm away to sort out my delivery plan with the gynaecologist and being in control of things this time is a big cheerer.

Oh! And the waiting. Waiting when you have nothing to do is painful.

feelingblue123 · 24/07/2017 13:01

I moved house at 22 weeks. I feel your pain. Not internationally but to a caravan so we can rennovate a new house. This was a dumb move but we had zero choice.

feelingblue123 · 24/07/2017 13:02

Rat - I'm 28 weeks and only just got a sort of bump.

TriJo · 24/07/2017 13:45

11 weeks... the whole family getting norovirus at the same time.

Luxembourgmama · 24/07/2017 13:53

Without a doubt people overwhelming me with unhelpful unasked for "advice" personal questions about how i planned to feed the baby and commenting on what i'm eating. I was told by a colleague I shouldn't eat raw carrots. FFS.

TheLegendOfBeans · 24/07/2017 14:00

Oh feelingblue - blimey! X

Beachbaby2017 · 24/07/2017 14:10

I hope everything works out okay, cherriesinthesnow.
