Dear god, I'm shattered. I am only 20 weeks and really struggling to sleep in bed, I toss and turn all night. My bump, back, neck and lower back ache. Bump has started dragging downwards when lying on side which is uncomfortable and strange feeling.

I have tried several normal pillows stuffed in various places and manage to doze off for 30 mins, then wake to find they have all moved.

Hubby is being driven mad and will pay for a body support pillow today so I can (hopefully) sleep better before work tomorrow.

Looking online there are just so many... Dream genie, snuggle up, cheap ones.

I don't want one that goes flat and is basically pointless but other than that have no idea !

Has anyone bought one that was particularly good or bad?

Thanks!

I bought this and it's still going strong (though I think it was nearer £25 than £30 when I bought it). Really comfy and definitely doesn't move once you're settled in/on it. So glad I got it!

I have been given a Dream Genii and I think it's crap! Tried to use it twice and hated it. Currently just using normal pillows - one under bump, one between knees

Bea1985 · 16/07/2017 13:48

Thanks guys I'll take a . Look at the one nina suggested .... Glad I know not to buy dream genie

I bought a Love2sleep big U pillow from Amazon - it's great and has really helped my sleep improve apart from the waking every two hours for a wee

Lemondrop99 · 16/07/2017 16:00

I haven't tried one but on a different thread, loads of people were recommending the Theraline pillow

Sparklyuggs · 16/07/2017 16:28

See I love the dream genii and hate the massive U shaped pillow I got off Amazon Smile

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/07/2017 16:33

I'd love one of these but the price is ridiculous Grin

I have just thrown out my generic long pillow from Precious Little Ones - lasted me well in first pregnancy but now it's thin and DS was jumping on it and an embarrassing amount of dust came out Blush

I had a feel of a dreamgenii in Jojo Maman Bebe and it's super thin and I need something bulky.

I bought a wedge pillow from Amazon but don't know why, can't work out how best to use it Confused

It's such a gamble! Might make do with regular pillows for the remainder of this pregnancy ( I'm 23 weeks now).

CluelessButTrying · 16/07/2017 16:41

I've just ordered a babymoov dreambelt... I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives!

QuestionARhino · 16/07/2017 16:45

Absolutely do not recommend a dream genii either! Now my bump's big I'm finding my chicco bump wedge is a godsend. Otherwise I just have about 4-5 regular pillows wedging me into place Grin

OuchBollocks · 16/07/2017 16:52

It's such a personal thing. I loved my dreamgenii, it did 2 pregnancies and now supports DS when he's sitting up on my bed (supervised, with a bed rail on one side and a bedside crib on the other!)

TheLegendOfBeans · 16/07/2017 16:56

I would marry my Theraline if I could.

coragreta · 16/07/2017 17:30

I second theraline. So comfy. I'm snuggled up with it in my hammock right now. So comfy.

JoyJoyJoyJoy · 16/07/2017 17:42

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/07/2017 17:44

Does the theraline seem to keep its fullness?

Superfinch · 16/07/2017 17:53

I couldn't get along with the dream genie either. The bit that goes under the bump didn't support me enough and the bit that goes between your legs was too thick. I tried it a few times and always ended up booting it out of bed in a huff. Used a normal pillow under my bump in the end but would wake every night with hip pain with or without a pillow.
Hope you find one that works for you. Smile

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/07/2017 18:31

I took the plunge and bought the bbhugme and seriously IT IS SO WORTH IT! I got a code with my purchase Friendlyhug10 for 10% off if anyone wants it. I think it only works on their website though.

Anyway the pillow is ridiculously comfortable, it's got almost like bean bag beans inside so it's really mailable and grooves to your shape. I use it on the sofa too and when I do any stretching. It can also be used as a nursing pillow and a baby nest and apparently the fasteners are teethers. It is obviously expensive but I haven't regretted the purchase at all. It's made me sleep so much better. I'm 29 weeks now and have had it since about 19 weeks I think. DP keeps trying to steal it ha.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/07/2017 18:35

OMG Gimble don't tempt me Shock It does look like something that will last well past the baby stage though. It looks pretty and I love that it's not cutesy. I've had (cheap) microbead type cushions before though and they seem to stretch out and lose their shape?

Beachbaby2017 · 16/07/2017 19:18

I don't know if you can buy it over there, but I really like my Snoogle.

As for the bump, I find a wedge or pillow is often too much to put under it - it compresses things, bothers my ribs, and increases my heartburn. I've had the most luck lately with folding up a small item of clothing and tucking it under my bump (when I'm on my side). It's just enough to offset the weight of the bump pulling down.

TupperwareTat · 16/07/2017 20:57

Argos do some really good ones. I got my straight long body pillow with pillowcase, from them £18

Bear2014 · 16/07/2017 21:01

Theraline! It's the only thing that makes me comfy at the moment at 36 weeks. I used it til I gave birth at 39 weeks last time too and my 3 year old is also obsessed with it so money well spent.

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/07/2017 21:34

@BendydickCuminsnatch I've only had it a few months so can't vouch for it going out of shape but it's certainly hasn't this far. Honestly just do it- you won't regret it!

The best thing if you can move it to get it exactly where you want it so it isn't constrained to just being a V shape or a straight pillow. I am giving it some serious love right now Grin

Oh bbhugme how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/07/2017 21:35

*it certainly hasn't thus far

MeltorPeltor · 16/07/2017 21:38

I bought one from mothercare in the sale, its like 3 cushions sewn together and I cuddle one, one under the bump and one between the knees. I've also send DH to sleep in the spare room.

Last time I had a V pillow and a wedge pillow that was about £16 from Argos but they don't seem to do them and the dog had stolen the V pillow!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/07/2017 21:44

Gimble I've bought one Grin

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/07/2017 22:35

Yay @BendydickCuminsnatch!! Please let me know what you think when it arrives. Welcome to the dark side - it's comfy!
